Marshall - 7 - Good game, great save, slightly at fault for their goal but also didn't have much to do.

Connolly - 5 - Not great today, not bad either but gave away possession a few too many times. Needs to cut that out ASAP.
Hudson - 8 - Our leader, great performance today
Nugent - 6 - At fault for the goal, but still a solid performance from a kid who plays years older than he is
Taylor - 6- Nothing spectacular. But didn't have much to do

Smith - 8 - The man is a superstar, quality every time he's on the ball. You could see we missed him when we went off
Whitts - 6 - Better than late I thought.
Gunnar - 7 - was his normal self, brave, good on the ball, long throws did the buisness
Noone - 7 - Played with a point to prove. But over did it at times, still a livewire and a creator

Bellamy - 7 - typical performance, good free kick, chased everything
Campbell - 8 - took his goals really well, first one was fantastic given the timing. Great bit of business

Marshall 7 made a good save from distance, stayed alert.

Taylor 7 - nothing spectacular but very solid and linked up with Noone well.
Nugent 7 - excellent first half, tired a bit an awful own goal. It's easy to forget he is so young because he is that good.
Hudson 8 - should be dropped as captain
Connally 5 - not a right back IMO, doesn't offer real width and lost possession far to often.

Noone 7 - very lively, final ball lacking a lot of the time and at times took the wrong option.
Gunnar 8 - excellent, so strong and won a lot of possession today.
Witts 7 - decent without being spectacular.
Smith 7 - such a good player, strong and rarely loses the ball.

Bellers 7 - bellers is bellers
Campbell 8 - very good finishes, wouldn't surprise me if he is our top scorer come the end of the season. A lot more to him than his finishing tho, great signing

gunnar was just pipped by 2 goal campbell for man of the match ,absolutely phenomenal workhorse in midfield
noone, definetly agree played with a point to prove.I love his positive play,great to see him back
Felt sorry for nugent although he showed his inexperience for the own goal

Tbh, when he did it I tweeted 'what a clown' but I deleted it a few minutes after reflecting on it. He had a solid game and it was the first thing he had done wrong. It was just me overreacting and apart from that I think he bullied their strikers and had them well controlled. I think the anger was purely I thought 'here we go again, another Dave Jones episode'.

Just after nugents mistake hudson let the ball run through to marshall with bristols striker lurking,Didnt quigte see how close it was from the canton stand. Anyone have a better view ?

Thought Cowie did well and 433 away from home may be the system to boot this championship home.

Taylor was faultless going forward. Linked up really well with whoever was in front of him at the time. His pull back for Cowie on about 80 minutes was nice too
Don't know what to say about Connolly. Why not put him CB and let Kev go RB. If Kev lost possession half as much as Connolly today he would be shot down for weeks

Whitts impressed me, calm and composed pulling all the strings. Needs a goal or two.

Could have been awful, was only a bit too heavy footed for their striker to latch onto. Got lucky

Marshall (7) Solid game.. unlucky not to come out with a clean sheet.

Taylor (7) He ent a stand out performer but he has improved his defensive side of his game.

Hudson (7) Led the line well, really strong and puts a foot wrong.

Nugent (8) Depsite the own goal I thought the lad was brilliant from start to end.. despite the own goal he is a real sold CB and he is going to benefit through the games he played. Not easy to step into a team that is top and heading towards promotion.

Connolly (6) Right back is not his position.. ent easy for him but he works hard.

Noone (7) He tried to much but the midfield don't offer theirself to help out when needed. He was lively.

Whittingham (7) He was getting some of his game back but didn't stand out.. he was fantastic at moving the ball wide.

Gunnarsson (8) He was always tracking back and he has a bit of Cowie about him when it comes to always running forward and back. Can't beat a midfielder like him.

Smith (8) Clever clever player and looked the Smith we saw at the start of the season. Did he assist Campbell?

Campbell (9) Took his goals well and he is on form. A real Malky type player imo.

Bellamy (8) He was always shutting down Heatonand putting him under and was always running and he really was a threat running at defenders and put a lot of crosses in.


Can't speak highly of this Nugent lad. If he was playing for Barnsley and had to step in it wouldn't be the pressure he has stepping in for us. Due to the strength in defence we use Nugent but he really does add a threat to the first team. He is young and hungry to get game time and he isn't just stepping in for us but imo he is showing he can be a part and even start. He might be young but he matured well since pre season.
