Canton Stand (singing section)

Sat Feb 16, 2013 5:23 pm

I thought this was meant to be a singing section? Couldn't hear them for the majority of the game! Only the Bristol City fans and us in the Ninian making noise!

Sing up lads. :malky:

My point is that the Canton Stand is meant to be a standing/singing section yet the Ninian were louder, that shouldn't happen. I'm not exaggerating, the Canton was awful today compared to every other game.

I understand completely what you're saying.

The canton was loud from the canton and the ninian was loud from the ninian. I never heard you in the ninian once but I accept that is because I'm in the canton and the acoustics don't allow the sound to travel,so stop pretending you're the best fan etc and grow up

Wonder how well it travels to the pitch

This acoustic nonsence is bullshit. Our fans are shite end of. Palace in the cup last year was great but that is the exception rather than the norm. I sit in the Ninian, I heard the Wurzels far more than the canton.

Blame Wayne Nash. We need the grange end back, Fact.

Such chants as " Is this a library, Is this a library, Is this a library " & " Your support is f*cking shit " and You sold Your Soul To A Lady Boy" made me laugh along with a few other chants from the bristol city fans is all i could here from the bristol city fans in the 1st half, second half we made a little noise but not much more than a ground in div two with 4k home fans in tbh, :ayatollah:

Lady ninian would be ashamed and outraged in her grave tbh :old:

Jon :

Your post is nonsence.

Where I sit in the Ninian, towards the Canton end, you could hear plenty of noise from the Canton.

I could see the wurzels were singing but couldn't hear much.

However, that's not the point. What's important is the noise on the pitch for the players, not a competition between ends.

Much better, in my humble view, that all the singers and standers get together in the Canton and make a big noise all together.

Well I'm just posting from my point of view, from the Ninian (near the away fans) the Canton was very quiet.

Sing up lads. :malky:

The ninian was a joke today all just standing there doing bugger all. Bristol city took the piss out of your section.. The ninian making the noise :? was you dreaming :laughing6:

Re: Canton Stand (singing section)

The canton was very loud today, I sit at the top in the middle, and start a lot of songs myself after a few beers!

But we couldn't hear the ninian or the away supporters much!

So it seems the sound travelling from the stands is only moving in straight lines and finding it difficult to reach corners of the opposite end, it's crazy because a know a few lads sitting in the family stand who said the canton was loud!

Off the top of my head, that's the loudest I can recall the canton this season. :ayatollah:

Best the canton has been this season

Re: Canton Stand (singing section)

The stadium is partly to blame.. it does not hold the sound well, so dont carry around the stadium... this kills off any chance of an atmosphere because atmosphere is mostly kept alive by banter.

I'm in 113 and also couldn't hear Bristol.
Ninian was louder than usual and canton quieter than usual.
