Atmosphere today

Sat Feb 16, 2013 8:17 pm

Was bloody awful in large part. Bristol City fans made a hell of a lot of noise for 70 minutes and the only one's who were singing were the Canton Stand. But sitting in Aisle 103, most of the time it was only a few of them unless something happened on the pitch. The Ninian Stand didn't have any banter with our 'rivals' though they did wave cheerio once or twice. I thought it was a 'derby'. I thought it was a good game so surely we can't blame the quality on show from us anyway, they were shocking

Also, the family stand was half full, again.

The only true part of what you've just said is about the family stand.

Other than that you're way off.

I did go i thought we were good, in the Canton. But if i were in the away end i doubt they could hear really hear most of the time because of the acoustics. Just disappointed by the Ninian Stand as i've seen them much better against less profile opposition :ayatollah:

This is true, its a shame we cant even be bothered to make a noise during a derby game. RIP the famous support we once had.

Gona stick up for half of the ninian hear thought they were loud and had banter. Shame the other half dont join in because that would get it rocking. Best its been for a while.

Definately can be better but it wont be if people sit down and dont sing. Not rocket science is it

Something certainly should be done to move the 'canton's' to near the away fans. Just too difficult to banter the away fans with chants. Doesnt help that the outsides and front of the Canton is full of people who either dont know the chants or just refuse to make any noise whatsoever. Last couple of games ive unfortunately had to sit near at least one couple who cant stop touching each other

They actually feel sorry for us. I remember the Chasetown pre season game here and thought it was quite loud for 5,000 people can't wait to see a packed house. Now it's, quite simply as said in the link and another thread on their forum, a morgue.

Why should we give a f*ck about what those Wurzels think?

In new stadiums such as ours we are never going to get the atmospheres that we did at Ninian. Fact.

Atmosphere was average.

Didn't hear much at all from Bristol.

They won't have an atmosphere when they'll have kids playing against Carlisle next season

Everyone's section sounds loud when your sat in the middle of it. Thought Bristol were pretty quiet in the 2nd half. Suppose the killer punch goal jus before half time didn't help.

Makes sense now. You were in the Canton. So how the hell can you say the Ninian weren't singing or that we weren't having any banter with the wurzels? I was in the Ninian and can tell you that you are 100% wrong.

I was in the middle of the family and tbh for the first time ever the ninian were way louder than the canton - barely heard you lot. Perhaps it was the general noise up this end. Brizzle were loud for abour an hour then tapered off, something the pompey fans never done last season.

I think you've got the Canton and Ninian mixed up as the Canton was very quiet compared to usual and the Ninian was making the most noise.
