A stock-take of little Brizzle City………..

Sat Feb 16, 2013 9:15 pm

Now lets have a look….

1/ Oh dear, in a very lowly league position and staring at the trap door to where they belong.

2/ Oh-Oh…..a pathetic stadium with huge issues in moving to a newer stadium

3/ Their awful clueless team with below average players and journeymen like that Stead bloke.

and last but by no means least….

4/ Their fans, using todays match to vent their jealousy of us and instead of getting behind their team, singing song after song about the mighty Bluebirds (Jealousy is a terrible thing)

I'm so glad we never have to play little Brizzle City again. Hwyl fawr      :laughing6: :laughing6: :laughing6: :laughing6: :laughing6: :laughing6: :laughing6: :ayatollah:

Read this post and was not going to comment but then i realised that the statements you made about my club actually echoed the situation you lot were in about 10-12 years ago. Am i wrong? how your memory seems to fade.eh blazing when you get ilder or were you not a real fan back in them dark days when your team struggled.year after year playing in a shit ramshackle ground while your fans rioted.around the land.
sound familiar?
As for our ground plans were released end of january to redevelope AG to 26000 capacity by start of 16/17 seaon incase AV is finally put to bed. The money is being put up by our very very wealthy owner who is not only english but a fan of bristol city fc.
Yes we may.go down but we will be back , playing you again sooner.than some of you think.

It does echo us pretty spot on about 10 years ago !
Question is where do you see your club in ten years and would you be happy being in our position now or would you rather just try and stay in the championship ? If it meant adjusting and compromising like cardiff would you be for or against a billionaire owner coming in and changing certain parts of Bristol city to make them a premier league club on and off the field ?

Thomasblue, i would love to see bcfc in the situation that you are in now. The point.you are missing though is that we already have an owner who is a fan of the club and who is worth over 750million. We dont need.foreign investment and god forbid the bullshit you lot have had to go through to get where you are.
I would also like to think that when we have either a new ground or a re-developed AG in 2016/17 we will challenging for top flight flight football well within 10 years.
we are still suffering from our boards decision to appoint weak managers since the coppell fiasco a few seasons ago.hopefully in SOD we have the man to stabilise us and kick us on.

I for one always enjoy our games with bristol city.just like i did with rovers when we were in the same division.Their profile was very similar to ours b4 we got tans investment and i bet they are happy to stay at ashton gate than move to a soulless bowl like ours.whenthemoonshines and wurzel red are decent fellas on this forum and they love their club whatever state it is in.plenty of shit games in the championship, bristol city one of the better ones.

Only 750 million? That won't get you out of the Conference these days!

You're right though to say you're where we were 10 years ago.

The problem for you though is a new stadium and money doesn't guarantee success. So many bug teams fighting to get out - Wolves, Birmingham, Forest, Sheff Wed etc.

We got lucky and I don't mean Vincent Tan and his money, which are obviously a huge factor, I mean Malky.

I went with a friend to see Hereford v Wrexham last week and I do not want to watch lower division football every week again - I would do, of course, but I love Malky and the team ethic we have although I don't like being in red.

Despite that, I'm loving every second of this season.

Yes but have you got an owner willing to put nearly a quarter of his wealth into your club on the gamble that you can make the premier league ?
Tbh looking at your ground , players and league position you have to be looking at we'll over 100 mill investment to make your club a premier league club . That's taking in account of having a new ground , probably 15 top players at the moment only Adomah and heaton IMO are anywhere near good enough , that means a lot of money spent on transfers and wages . Plus upgrades to staffing issues policing around your ground etc loads of other things which all add up that cardiff have added slowly over years making the lug more proffesional ready for that step up .
At the moment sadly you ont seem to have it and if your owner is so dedicated and willing to pump money into you why is he not doing it now to insure championship status ?
Not a dig at your club just a question .

You raise some good points about our situation thomasblue.
you mention adomah and heaton, i think.you can add cunningham ,baldock and kelly to that list. Not great i know but a start.
Concerning facilities we have upgraded our training ground and have a very very good academy set up and have done for years and this season academy products reid and burns have made appearances in league games.
Where making a big push is concerned i honestly believe and i have done for years that a large investment in transfers and the like will not happen until we have a stadium to support such investment. If we had made it up in.2008 we would have been stumped at AG with a capacity of 19k and no new stadium in sight.Landsdown is a very shrewd man and when we get facilities to match our ambition then i hope to see us kick on.
