He had the chance to pay some respect to Gavin on a world media stage and he failed to do it.
That being said, when me state the obvious Max Kellerman asked him what his best shot was and Broner replied "when I take my picture" I did chuckle a bit.
People forget they're showmen putting it on for the cameras. Off camera all these boxers etc. go for meals together, mixing in the same social circles having a laugh. They know some got to play the fool, they know others got to be boring so those who are playing the fool stand out - its a money game after all.
So whether Ricky Burns Did run from the fight offer or whether it was a plan to get Broner more known on these shores so Wank Warren could lace his pockets a bit more? Who knows.
What I do know is, that if Ricky wants to keep his belts then he had better avoid this problem.
Ricky is avoiding the fight and its the best thing for him. Broner said tonight if Ricky won't fight him he will move up to 140. I hope he moves up so he can face real challenges because he'll KO Ricky as well and he can progress in his career to fast.
I dont find him annoying at all. The only boxers I find annoying are deluded ones like Harrison who think they are world beaters and Khan who think they are better than they actually are. Broner knows he's good and he is good and will go on to great things if he keeps his mental game straight.
Boxing would be a terrible sport if there were no showmen. The sport has been crying out for a trash talking young fighter like this with real raw talent for years. People say Mayweather is cocky but he also isn't exciting in the ring. His game plan is always the same, soak it up and unload and exploit. Broner is much more interesting in the ring, is not afraid to mix it up, show off etc.
I dread to think how terrible the sport would be if it was full of Klitscko's.
