I own the red shirt

Tue Feb 19, 2013 11:50 pm

That was my limit. A red shirt, a hoodie and a jacket. I wasn't happy initially, but I wanted to support my club in that way.

However, tonight I am so angry - and probably more upset than I've ever been. I wasn't at the game due to work, but I've seen the pictures and that's enough to see what happened.

I truly believed the last few days that few people would take the scarf. I am now sickened.

This is my first real post on the rebrand, and the time where I felt most emotional.

They are ripping our fan base apart and the worst thing is, every fan will be replaced. Next season that stadium will be a sea of red every game.

It won't be the only thing either. The bluebird will be gone. We will soon be known simply as "CARDIFF" and not "CARDIFF CITY". Red seats will be put in for the expansion.

Brace yourselves, this is going to be some of our darkest days.

Our club is being systematically destroyed bit by bit

I understand mate.

I bought the red shirt because I buy the shirt every season. I also bought loads of retro merchandise to try and convince myself it was fine. I wear my blue scarf out, get ridiculed 'why you wearing that? you're red now blah' and just put up with it and argue back.

The red just looked like a sea of blood that poured from the cut of the final stabbing that had been delivered to this once great club.

That's the same with me mate.

Our club is as good as dead, it's a new club. A club which hurts me.

Farewell Cardiff City. Cardiff Reds has emerged from the flames.

I bought the shirt simply because I wanted to support the team, I would have bought the home shirt even if this re-brand never happened. I feel bad even having the red shirt now, tonight I was a part of Blue Tuesday, wore merchandise of previous seasons, holding up a Blue, White & Yellow Cardiff scarve above fans holding up red scarves just felt so wrong. I was quick to judge the fans yet they were the ones right all along

Those who bought the red shirt in the first place are just as bad as those who took the red scarf tonight. I don't know how you can be angry tonight when you've contributed to it.

I kind of agree, but if they've realised tonight what's happening to this club then at least it's better late than never.

But i do agree that, generally, the way in which our fans just accepted this is what made it so easy for it to happen.

Better late than never and I hold my hands up and realise I was wrong.

I agree. I think that Tan knew that the majority would be easily bribed for a free givaway. Now that the majority can see what effect it had inside the stadium, many wish that they had not taken one. I cannot see anywhere near that amount of red scarves ever being seen again as some fans are only now realising that they have been duped. As for Tan, well you know in the Chinese calendar that it is the year of the snake but dont worry cos in 2 years time its the year of the sheep. :ayatollah:
