A forum for all things Cardiff City

Craig, you seem to be under the illusion that a businesses trading identifier is also its trademark. My dear friend you couldn't be more wrong.
This is taken from a trademark search on the very site you linked. I think you'll see that I am right and that the trademark has the status of EXPIRED. It was registered in 02 and has now lapsed with no renewal as you can see there.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Anyone else concerned by this? Why has it not been renewed?
I see a big name change bombshell about to hit

Haven't we always been AFC?
I remember being a kid and asking my dad what the A stood for?
When did "Cardiff city fc" expire?

Cardiff City AFC Bluebirds is still registered. Whether we are covered under this I do not know and someone with more background in this regards may be able to help us out.
However, 'Cardiff City FC and Cardiff City Football Club have expired. I don't know the implications for this but why have they been allowed to expire?

Unsure mate but that is still registered but dont know whether it covers us. If it does then great news because it dont run out until 2018 but the current name on the sites is CARDIFF CITY FC or CARDIFF CITY FOOTBALL CLUB which mirrors the lapsed trademarks worryingly.

I always find it murky anyway (not just us) but different parts of the club under different names.
I think Ninian parks sign was "Cardiff city afc"
It is certainly interesting tho.

That's a bit worrying. I am sure that if the name of the club changed then a lot of people would walk away.

In that order or? Why don't you use just the one for all three? Do you have a different personality each time you log into said items as you have drastically different views for each account. You got something to tell us Barnett? Only the other day you said the rebrand doesn't bother you.
Thu Feb 21, 2013 9:57 pm
Expired in Nov 2012.
I'm guessing it's more likely to be a cock up by the club. Someone forgetting to renew.
Does that mean somoene could produce merchandise with 'Cardiff City Football Club' and 'Cardiff City FC' without an issue?
Thu Feb 21, 2013 9:58 pm
Search any club and you will see loads of expired names similar to ours. There is still a version of the name on trademark.
Manchester United FC has expired.

It didn't bother me mate until I heard of the scarf promotion campaign. That was the breaking point for me. Not only did it come at a time when some fans were just starting to unify again ready for the promotion campaign but it was a clear case of forcing the red on people. Those who didn't accept having a colour forced on them got abused and told to support other clubs.
There was no need at all for it. The club should have waited until the summer and then compromised but instead showed its true colours after initially stating the BLUE would remain. I do not see how we can believe this claim in the slightest given that the latest scarf didn't feature a drop of blue and even the bluebird was red.
I think the scarf issue made me realise that this was never going to stop. Every little bit Tan could push the rebrand he would do so just that little bit further to get the ideal club he wants.

Interesting, how much to buy them

Why can you not understand that despite being a brain washing campaign by the club the scarfs were NOT FORCED on anyone. I refused one quite politely, many others could but refused. Now, you were not there, so stop speaking lies, lies and more lies. People had a choice whether or not they wanted a red scarf or not and they lapped them up in their droves.

http://www.trademarken.co.uk/trademark/ ... SaaG6OnzFqIt seems you stopped scrolling judging by the dates. More scaremongering

It'd be a bit silly to put on/off lights on the front of the CCS with the words 'Cardiff City Football Club' if this is the case
Thu Feb 21, 2013 10:11 pm
http://www.trademarken.co.uk/trademark/ ... SaaG6OnzFqRegistered in 2009 with standard 10 year registration.
The copy and paste you did was of old trademarks either dead or expiring. Not new ones.
Thu Feb 21, 2013 10:13 pm
Craig, I accepted that but does that cover the club on all basis' with the new badge etc. as well or just with the old badge? Im not looking for an argument but a discussion on this. As I stated above there are other trademarks still registered and active but do these protect us with the new badge as that trademark registration specifically has the old badge on it.
Stop with the scaremongering nonsense. We support the same club and I'm sure you want the club to keep its name and nickname as well. Lets have an adult like discussion on this.

Adults dont use 3 usernames and argue with themselves.....nutters do.

Owners of expired trademarks have 6 months after expiration to renew.

Hes a staunch pro rebrander in one, a suicidal, hate Tan, RIP CCFC in the other and the third he's a Serie A scout with a family to support with theories about Southampton wanting to get relegated on purpose for the parachute money.

Typical scaremongering.
What a stupid sig too.
