A forum for all things Cardiff City

...to me - at the moment anyways. I know this has been said a million times by countless people and will be said again again by like minded fans, but I don't care it's how I feel. I've tried to restrain any negativity since Tuesday but now I just feel I need to put it out there as well, and this is probably the best medium to do that outside of the wife an kids, and work!
I've been against the rebrand of the TEAM/KITS/BADGE from the start, but admittantly I was 'happy' to roll on throughout the season slightly scared by the 'red or dead' stuff under the knowledge we'd still have a club and the FANS will still remain true to our identity and colours etc.
As the season has progressed the 'red contingent' have steadily increased in numbers and the sight of this has slowly eaten away at my enjoyment of supporting the team I luv at home.
I then got to the point where even though we were miles ahead top of the league looking destined for the promised land I was not happy and growing more an more frustrated with the whole thing thinking this should not feel like this.
This then takes us up to Tuesday night - clearly a watershed moment and has affected me profoundly. When the rebrand situation kicked off I did not anticipate a FANS REBRAND also, which is what we got against Brighton. My feelings ranged from sickened, disappointed, frustrated to angry...like countless others. This does not feel like or look like the club I've supported since a young boy. Promotion ending a 50 year wait placing our great club in the limelight it deserves should not feel like this. Words can't describe really.
I just don't know what to do now, I dont want to be in a stadium surrounded by those more than comfortable to rip away our identity and history for success, many of you may contest that is happening but that is my belief. At the moment I'm not interested in attending any home games. I'm going to Molineux on Sunday, and I'm now interested to see what this looks like because after seeing lads who I thought were Cardiff through an through wearing red scarfes on Tuesday I'm not confident we wont see a sea of red at Wolves either.
I know many will see this as another Rebrand or scarf thread but I couldnt give a f**k - I DIDN'T EVER THINK THERE WOULD BE A FAN REBRAND AND NOW CARDIFF CITY IS NO LONGER THE SAME CLUB.
Its a massive shame for Malky and the team who I have huge respect for. Gutted.

Tried to articulate my feelings tidy, but heads shot to bits over it all tbh, not that I need to justify anything to you. Yes I'm going to Wolves because it's hard to stay away, which im sure you'll agree, on the premise that I wont be surrounded by a load of red.
Surely you can understand the choice of staying away is easier said than done, which is what I trie getting across

I think you need to re evaluate your life.

I feel for you, jonscam but I am equally confused that there are a few on here that have nothing more important to worry about in life than the colour of the shirt
We are
STILL Cardiff City FC and promotion would mean the survival of the club for many a year to come; and not many could
GUARANTEE that a couple of short seasons ago, eh?

I won't lie and say promotion means nothing, because I still very much support the club.
However, it will have even seriously devalued - If only we could have been promoted in blue.

I dont disagree with you tbh. I may well feel different after the weekend because its all still a bit raw after Tuesday. Just fucked off that something we've wanted for so long feels like this.

Thanks Jon you have just very eloquently expressed exactly my own views on the subject. I cant believe that after supporting the club for as long as I have , 1959/60 was my frst season, I dont feel as excited as I should. But that of course is all due to the changes the new owners have brought in and the way these changes have been so easily accepted by so many of the fans.

I have been supporting Cardiff for nearly sixty years and although disappointed with the colour change. I have been able to live with it and move on to more important issues for me personally like success.
I have a real problem with those on here that would like us to play in the Welsh league as long as we are in blue.......frankly I dont believe the majority in that camp, they are deluding themselves, and for the minority who really feel that way I feel sorry for them.
I spent too many years in an eventually derelict ground, watching a second rate team, run by a series of second hand car salesmen, waiting for either relegation or administration or both.
I'm getting on, let me enjoy a bit of success for city before I die and if it has to be in red so what!

Exactly how I feel
Nothing will de-value that feeling of elation of actually doing it after all these years of, mostly, pain
Don't get me wrong, I'd rather we had stayed Blue but if it has to be Red and promotion, so be it because even if the club was to survive without VT, a big
if, we would be unlikely to find someone with similar levels of means to give us the level of success we strive for.
You only have to look at the suicidal posts after only our 2nd home loss of the season to see how much depends on results
Fri Feb 22, 2013 12:04 pm
I should'nt allow myself to go on forums...from now on I think I'll just read and not post! Feelings are obviously strong on the subject, but I do have a bit of regret on how this reads in parts - I aint some f*cking nut job
Rule number 1: Don't make any decisions or write anything in the heat of the moment.
Looking forward to get steaming on Sunday and seeing if our travelling support can put the faith back that we are loyal to the cause and to Cardiff City...the result for me doesn't matter anywhere near as much as that.

Maybe it's apathy or maybe it's almost an anti-climax that everything you've dreamed of since 1962 (last time we were up with the big boys) is suddenly becoming a reality as the 'thrill of the chase' will prove better than the event itself but I (seriously) believe that if the only thing that makes you feel so 'blue' is the colour change than it's time to give up
