I urge fans not to protest

Fri Feb 22, 2013 3:36 pm

It's not for me to tell people what to do and we all have free speech and opinions.

Can I ask those that are considering a protest just to take a step back and think of the bigger picture.

1. We should of protested from the start

2. Think of Malky and the players. What will they think about it all?

3. If we gain promotion then protest like mad!!! You will get more support once it's done which will have a better effect.

The players shouldn't be affected. Their minds stay on the pitch and the game. Plus, if it is at Central Station, how would they be affected? :?

I urge you to stand up for your club and join the protest !

1. Why didnt you protest

2. The players are professional enough to know its a fan/ownership issue not a team issue and has no bearing on them whatsoever , the team will still be supported to the maximum which is why it will be away from the bowl of the ground not during the match !

3. If the protest is done after we will be laughed at by everyone , it has to be done consistently every week not once they are in the prem !

It wont bother the players mate, read a book called the secret footballer if you want to know what the players really think of fans..

Great timing, we are so close to get promotion and some so called fan comes up with an idea to protest! Why now? We have been playing in red all season ? Is it because of the reality on Tuesday that 22000 fans want to just support the team and you don't like it, carry on wearing blue but protest, no, that is no good for the club.

To me there are many ways we can protest the most simple and least controversial will be to wear blue and start singing bluebird songs whilst swinging our blue scarf's....

I assume the Canton & 119 is still blue start "u r my Cardiff" every 5 mins

Stop bloody whinging though..... do something.positive........

Can i just ask how old are you???

You keep saying it wont effect the players??? you know nothing if this is the case? do you not believe the effects of Tuesday have a bearing on the poor first half?? can you imagine 1000s protesting.. not only would it damage the clubs reputation of late but also make headlines we don't want.

Lets make headlines by getting to the Premiership and supporting the club, lets sit down with the club and see what happens.

Protesting in or outside the stadium will only disrupt the harmony of this club and until May/June that don't need to happen.

Very true, know one of the players and it wont bother them in the slightest.

But also agree that protesting is completely pointless

At the end of the day the scarves were not forced on people to wear, the fact that so many people chose to do so has horrified a few.leave it there and wear blue if you want but realise that a majority of city fans are prepared to go along with what they see as the way forward for the football club,

Why? So we can put a downer on one of the greatest seasons in our history, finally reaching the premiership and you want to protest. Less people will support the protest if we go up if anything. A protest after promotion is secured will give us an uncertain summer before embarking on our first season in the top flight for over 50 years.

Don't see the relevance of my age but I'm in my 30s
Have been going down the city since I was 4 when my family were involved in the running of the club . Have Been a season ticket holder ever since only missing a handful of games over the years .
I fail to see how a peaceful protest about the direction our great club is going regards to the rebrand will effect the players in any way whatsoever ?
It won't be in the stadium and everybody who then goes in will give 100% support to the team . Fans shouting and abusing owners during the game in the main bowl is a different thing altogether and I would not support that !
The clubs reputation of late in my eyes and pretty much most of the rest of the country after seeing different message boards and fan views is that we have a great team born out of a deal to sell our history and identity for a chance of success !
What happens in June when we are in the premier league getting ready for our first premier league season when all of a sudden the club release the news that
1 the bluebird is gone
2 blue is no longer the away colour
3 city is dropped from the name as clubs with single names are more supposedly more successful ?
(Ie Barcelona , Liverpool, arsenal,Chelsea,

It will then be too late which is why we need to keep it in tans mind that the fans are not 100% behind him or the club and maybe we will get a compromise or guarantee that certain things will stay !
