fc basel, blue and red. (another rebrand thread)

I am anti red, pro blue, against the rebrand, whatever you wish to call me. I will however back the team all the way. I read this earlier on today about FC Basel. They play in red and blue.

On the inside tag of the jerseys is inscribed "Rot isch unseri Liebi, Blau die ewigi Treui, Basel unseri Stadt." This roughly translates to "Red is our love, blue forever true, Basel our city."

Being picky obviously it would be better for us to read "blue is our love......" but It's their motto for their club. My point being is they play in blue and red and embrace both colours, surely VT would be better going down this road rather than the take it or leave it "red only" which clearly IS causing a divide amongst the most important people in our club, us, and one which I fear will not heal as long as we play in red.

They didn't have either of those colours imposed upon them though. They are the Rotblau. Those are their traditional colours.
