There was a volcano in Iceland which has caused it ashes to float in the air, airlines are refusing to fly on health and safety grounds in case the engines get clogged up.

Apparently the ashes consist largely of silicon which on impact with the engine heat will turn to glass and basically f**k the engines up!!!

the ash acts like a stand blaster hitting the plane, goes inot the engines, heats up and then clogs the engine

Steve I spoke to Borley today, he sounded fed up being stuck there and weather wasnt as good as here either.

How you can feel sorry for a millionniare stuck in their villa in a different country is beyond me. I bet he feels sorry for me to when he he lapping up the sun and I am working for £6 a hour. Take the rough with the smooth

It's National Air Traffic Services who are refusing to let planes fly not the airlines. It has been proven that this stuff is dangerous when mixed with Aircraft engines. It is unprecendented for this action to take place but it is the right call.

There are still planes flying but under 4000 feet I believe.
