I was told the best thing to do with advice is to pass it on, so thats what I am doing here! Dave can use this for next seasons Prem Transfers (Fingers Crossed). It is from a book I have been reading and is titled 'The 12 main secrets of the Transfer Market':
1) A new manager wastes money; don't let him.
2) Use the wisdom of crowds.
3) Stars of recent World Cups or European Championships are overvalued; ignore them.
4) Certain Nationalities are overvalued.
5) Older players are overvalued.
6) Centre-forwards are overvalued; goalkeepers are undervalued.
7) Gentlemen prefer blonds; identify and abandon 'sight-based prejudices'.
8) The best time to buy a player is when he is in his early twenties.
9) Sell any player when another club offers more than he is worth.
10) Replace our best players even before you sell them.
11) Buy players with personal problems, and help them deal with their problems.
12) Help your players relocate.
Jones is good at number 11 thats for sure but should have taken note of number 9 when Stoke offered £6 mill for Ledley.
Taken from 'Why England Lose & Other Curious Football Phenomena Explained'. If you havn't already, take a look. Really good material.
