Segregation

Sun Apr 18, 2010 8:35 pm

Due to Segregation at the Stadium we missed out on 1200 extra ticket sales Vs Newcastle and 1700 Vs Swansea.

Why is our segregation so big when you watch games on tv in the Premiership and there are just a few rows between both sets of fans.

I thought the new stadium would help us with these issues and not make the segregation bigger.

Would you welcome a glass wall between our fans and away support so that every seat in the stadium could be used ?

There are glass partitions in the Olympic stadium Berlin but to your point, Spurs Chelsea had one line of stewards, it seems to work elsewhere, it does seem OTT at our place with the amount of segregation.

At Arsenal there were about 3 seats worth of segregation between us and the Arsenal fans, and apart from a bit of banter (abuse  ) there were no problems.

If there is near to a full house for Sat maybe it would be a good time to cut it down, surely no chance of trouble with Sheffield Weds.

For the Swansea game I think the large gap was warranted :ayatollah:

LOL @ Glass Wall - imagine being in a gold fish bowl would stop some of the atmosphere thats the only prob!

I think they do go over the top with the segragation look at us at Forset they were on top of us and to the sides!

The stewards and police should be quick enough to escort any trouble makers out of the stadium any way!

Thats my point we miss out on the extra money when quite obviously we need every penny :?

Look at the segregation for the Leicester FA cup match :o granted we didnt need more seats as we sold, if my memory is correct, 12,000 but why such a big gap and originally it was even bigger but we complained and the club relaxed it a bit.

Carl mentioned to me earlier about a glass partion, but I have seen it in foreign stadiums and sometimes it has made fans react worse.

Thank you I think that could work in our stadium and even it would give the stadium some identity :ayatollah:

Re: Segregation

you see the likes for arsenal v tottenham and they have just a line of stewards, Man utd Man city 2 line of stewards with diffrent sets of fans sitting 2 seats away from each other, mad hay?

its stupid, its all down to jobsworth at the staium and the police who want a easyier life, let the feckers earn thier cash!

Re: Segregation

we dont need a glass wall we need a new stadium manager, they could easy reduce it but he dont know what hes doing....

Re: Segregation

Sun Apr 18, 2010 9:12 pm

I think if we were only a row away from the away supporters, whether it be a glass wall or a line of stewards it would definitely add add to the atmosphere.

Re: Segregation

Sun Apr 18, 2010 9:14 pm

I think it would add the atmosphere massively

Re: Segregation

Sun Apr 18, 2010 9:19 pm

Ackers1927 you spot on by there mate,

I would love for this to happen as Our "Boring" Stadium doesn't create nowhere near the atmosphere Like Ninian Park did, so i think this would be a great idea.
