Forget all this Clegg, Brown and Cameron bollocks in the next few days the REAL BIG ELECTION will begin as Trust voting forms begin to land on the doormats of it's members.
As promised several members of AAMB have stood for election including myself and think BigGyn, Mike and anyone called Davies
so don't forget if you want change put your mark against our names

Tony I think Carl, Steve Davies and Gwyn have decided they dont want to be involved with the trust. Greg Davies has been told its to late for him.
Borley and TG were very upset and still are regarding the Trusts last statement.Steve Davies will enlighten you on all of this.
Before anyone says I am Anti Trust, I have renewed My membership, But I dont agree how it is run and what the have achieved in the last year is dire in my opinion. So I have renewed so I can have my say.

You have my vote DC.

i intend going along to some meetings this year, and hope to put in some constructive input, i had filled the forms in for the election but a couple of things made me question things and possiibly before standing for an officer, i should see how things work and is it the road i wish to take.
Also didn't want to stand against the legend DAI HUNT.LOL

I'm disappointed you didn't stand, Gwyn. You'd have had my vote but it's good to hear you'll be giving input.

Thank-you Annis that makes 2 although the other one is my Mrs and I'm not convinced she will bother

Martyn birbery is my middle name so the Bow is on its way
I had difficulty getting my application accepted and had to make what amounted to an appeal to the trust Chairman who eventually allowed me to stand.
Basically I'm standing on a more inclusive ticket, I think the membership is not being listened to or consulted enough (i.e. the recent protest march) and I would like membership rates to become more affordable.
I also think we need a 'cause' for a better word which unites everyone and for me that's the switching of the Canton/Grange Ends, because just about everyone agrees it would improve the matchday experience and provide better access for children at the Canton End.
PS Gyn I can understand your concerns and I had the same thought myself about going to some meetings (there is one this Monday) and getting a feel for what is involved before putting myself forward for election.
But at the end of the day I'm an unknown element and I just what to shake the election up a bit, so for that reason I went ahead.

So basically, the current Trust uberlords made it difficult for you to stand for election?

Yes I resigned from the Trust by Email on the 12 March because I objected to TLG's discription of the protest march as 'football hooligans requiring a police escort'. I then changed my mind and tried to rejoin on the 15 March after TLG put a public appology on this MB & CCMB
I sent a second Email on 16 or 17 March and again received no reply until Sludge Factory intervened on the 29 March. I was then told I could rejoin at the Leciester game on 30 March, which I did.
By the time my application was processed I was told it was too late to nominate myself for election as 'I was not a member when the nomination forms were sent out' in early April.
Clearly I thought that was grossly unfair as I was basically a non-member for 3 days out 18 months (I was one of the original 200 who joined at the Electric Club in September 2008)
I was actually stuck off the election list but fair play to Geriant he took my 'appeal' along with supporting evidence to the Chairman who overturned the decision.

Tony Blue Williams I agree with 99.9% of the things you say on here so you'll have my vote. I think you're the sort of determined and level headed representative that the Trust needs. You're modest, realistic and have a good grasp of what the fans want overall. I think you'll do a great job and you have my backing.
Fri Apr 23, 2010 11:49 am
Well, I'm not joining, but Tony can have my virtual vote.
is Sludge standing? Seems like a decent enough person.

I have read the proposals put forward by two posters on this site , tony williams and mike roderick and both will be getting my vote
I have had several shall we say " disagreements " with tony ..but having read his ideas on increasing membership and other areas, I think he is exactly the sort of supporter that the trust needs
well done for standing

Good luck Tony.
Its better to get involved and work for change if you are unhappy with something than to stand on the sidelines criticising.
I beleive that for the fans it is critical to have a strong Trust and looking at yourself and several of the other candidates who are standing then I bleive this can be achieved. It means a lot to me as I wa sinvolved form the very first meetings and hope that i did my bit in getting it off the ground in the 1st place.
We as a fan-base are MILES behind many other clubs who've had strong trusts for years - its one thing our chums down the road have over us !
I would have liked to stand, but with my businesses at critical stages and also having 2 years left as the local schoool governor and the time that requires i couldnt have done it justice, but looking at the people who are applying for it then we should be in good hands.
It will also be interesting for one or 2 off the board who are very critical to see how hard the curretn board work and to meet them and see that they are actually really decent people who are doing their best for us as fans.
The candidates statements are here.

Not this time mate.
Maybe in a year or 2 when I can put in the time to do it justice.
It looks like there are at least 6 decent candidates for the 4 vacancies there. (Sorry but I can't imagine Dai Hunt being involved !).
Anyone know Gareth Jones who is standing ?
