We are a civilised society and need a social service structure the problem is the government cannot tell these people how to spend their money and they end up throwing it down their throats instead of feeding and clothing their kids. Take it away and the kids lose out even more. They need to get volunteer work out of them so they do not have the time to go to the pub. Wonder if they could give them their social in tesco vouchers that cannot be exchanged for alcohol

In time you'll see that the English political parties don't care about Wales and welsh people---vote for Plaid Cymru, a positive choice for Wales!!!!

Unusual for you Blazing you're normally so positive.
A vote for Plaid or Labour is akin to voting Dai Hunt onto the committee of CCST. No offence to Dai of course or CCST

There should be a small cash payment (no more than 20 quid) with the other (no more than 40 quid) being paid onto a smart card for the local supermarket (e.g Tesco) and the smartcard can be only used for food/household items-not booze and fags. Housing benefit and council tax benefit should go direct to the council.

Thats probably rascist Gareth Quite why I have no idea but when I dabbled in politics many years ago thats what I was told. Another concern was that cetain criminal elements are far smarter than the establishment and it wouldn't take too long before there was an active black market in said vouchers (no smart cards in them days). Housing benefit and poll tax concessions are administered by the Council so they can't, legally pay themselves. Funnily enough old Sludge has some good ideas/points on that particular subject fair play.
