Paul Guy in Cardiff City Common Sense Talk, Shock?

Sun May 02, 2010 6:58 am

Don't think I've heard Paul Guy say so much. Over the last three days he has said more than I've heard over the previous three years. If this is what he has to say, he should talk more often.

This report from the News of the World is at odds with Pauls Guys interview. Her it says players will need to go, whereas Guy said they did not.

and it was Alan Whiteley who struck up the first investment conversation with TG, tut, tut Mr. Ridsdale.

Music to my ears (eyes) .

I've felt a bit emotional this weekend that finally the turmoil and torture of coming home, logging on to my computer or turning on the news to see another disaster, embarrassment or crisis involving the club I love being reported.

The worry of the past few years and particularly the last few months has really worn me down.

Now the club needs to make a real push to get the community and local footy fans behind us.

Last night I was out with a load of football lads, and only ONE of them was a City fan - out of about 15-20, surely thats not right. Things are improving, but we've lost a whole generation of fans and the club must redouble its efforts to convert these people and make us a genuinely big club capable of consistently getting 20k+ average attendances.

The first thing they should do is make a major announcement about the new owners intentions and put season tickets on sale for another week.

The 2nd thing (if we don't go up) is market the corner sections as additional 'family stands' in the summer and get them filled.

A well written piece and it spells out how a football club should be run, it sounds to me that TG will be in the back ground and not in the press all the time. Its more about sustainable growth, rather than BOOM and BUST.

great article. Now all you snipers on the other board who I know read this one tell us we were wrong to protest. Paul Guy has just laid out in plain terms just how badly the club was run without directly pointing the finger at the man responsible but we all know that man was Peter Ridsdale. I can proudly say I protested to get rid of the parasite.

Correct, We did right to protest, Our Club was run by a Chancer/Gambler who had NO care as it was not his Club or money.

and this story in the News of the World from Whiteley adds even more bite, confirming TG walked away from talks and only returned after the intervention of Whiteley and Borley. Yet again confirming what has been said on here all along the Malaysians walked away after the tax issue which Peter Risdsdale didn't tell them about because and I quote "they didn't ask". You see snipers we were right again. - http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/8 ... Squot.html

I like the little snippet that Whiteley and not PR first approached TG. :D

Oh for goodness sake not this other board stuff again?????? Oh and didn't you used to post on that board.

Once again perpetuates the myth that the other board was against the march when I know Mike Morris and many others on there expressed his support for it. If I was Mike I'd be pretty annoyed at that.

The fact that some posters on their spoke against it is just one of those things that happene in a democracy.

Personally I wasn't against the march. My only fear was that if some numbskulls had got involved and caused trouble. (and for the avoidance of doubt I am not calling the entire march a bunch of numbskulls) then this couold have done the club severe damage.

However I remain to be convinced that the march has made one jot of difference to the takeover.

Yes I used to post on there. The reason I stopped posting on there because some snipers made threats to me because I brought up the issue of the tax at the Muni meeting - democracy my arse  Turns out I was correct to highlight the tax. Will I get an apology for the threats - I doubt it very much. All I will say to you is that there can be serious debates on this forum but any threats such as I received would be stamped on. It is a safe and enjoyable forum to participate and for that reason I chose to debate here.

That of course canot be condoned and I agree that those who issue such threats should be stamped on from a great height. I presume you infomed the moderators on there about these threats.

However you haven't answered my point as to why you seem to suggesting that the other board was against the march??

Incidentally I enjoy both forums. Both hvave their good points and their faults .

Everything This Forum has always stated and said, yet we were so shot down by certain people.

Elwood, if you were Honest, WE have a right to now go on as they sniped at us and many many said we were wrong.

Annis

And again you haven't answered my point that the MM board itself in the shape of Mike Morris ( who after all runs the bloody thing) expressed support for the march.

Criticise individual posters on their if they deeserve it by all means but not the board itself

Woulsn'd you be annoyed if someone on the other board criticised this one in its entirety for something individual posters had said but which you had plainly disagreed with.

I've actually in the past criticised people on the MM board for making this soert of generalised but untrue comment about this board incidentally

Thankyou Elwood, I have total Respect for Mike morris and he has worked hard to get rid off the Snipers. He wants a clean mb like me, but after the stick we have taken, surely we can just show we have been right all along :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Please read my post carefully Elwood - I stated "all you snipers" on the other board. Of course referring to snipers not everyone associated with that board. As I said earlier I now chose to discuss all things Cardiff City on this forum in my view its a far more enjoyable arena. Everybody has a right to their views but there is always a grown up way of portraying them and I chose to air my views here because I have the freedom to speak openly withouty threats being made on my person. In addition we have a good laugh on here - a great bunch of lads and lasses.

I am not sure there was a right or wrong in the case of the demonstation. Just people with different views of whether it was necessary or not. People on both sides of the debate went over the top I think but there is nothing wrong with honest disgreement

No more to be said really. By me anyway.
