my email to Derby county FC

Mon May 03, 2010 8:29 am

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am contacting you to complain of my treatment yesterday at the above mentioned match. I was wrongfully refused entry on trying to enter the ground, I had a valid ticket which was taken from me by a derby county steward yards from the turnstile. When I asked for an explanation I was ignored and then herded away by other stewards who then proceeded to call assistance from nearby police. I was in now way rude or violent and could not believe what had happened. I spoke to police officers from South Wales who had travelled with us and informed them of the facts, requesting their help in resolving the matter. They told me that they could not overrule the stewards and that their word was final. The act by your employee was theft. I was not alone treated in this way, other Cardiff fans had their tickets confiscated on the grounds of drunk and disorderly to which I have no problems with. I was in now way drunk or disorderly, and was not at all not rude, i was in fact polite to the stewards and police, hoping they would see the error and allow me entry to the ground. This did not happen. I was absolutely disgusted by the conduct of your stewards and the confiscation of my ticket was criminal. I would hope that upon review of yesterday your good selves would see the error and justifiably refund me the value of my ticket. I look forward to your reply.

That is not good - you should have asked the steward for their name and number and also top speak to their superior!

In the ground everyone in the 1st half was having a laugh all sat in the upper and lower on high spirits - our goal was furthest away

2nd half home goal our end THEY clearead the 2 sections of seats right behind the goal!!!! police and stewards completely sectioned it and it meant fans were right on the edges of the lower tiers - not happy fans and shit for the player i expect!!!!!

Shit pint! for £3.25 as well wont rush back there!

I was right next to the guys complaining about the sectioning. Some of the fans were showing the stewards their tickets saying they had a right to sit there.

Any idea why they had to move? After seeing the Derby invade the pitch I put it down to that.

Talking to a head steward previous to the game THAT whole section was never to be sat in full stop - so why they let them at the start of the game baffles me just to annoy them 2nd half - if they wernt to be sat in they should not have allocated them to our club! simples!

They reckon they always keep it "sterile" that was the word they used be interesting to lok at other teams playing away there to see if any of them sat there! lol - it's just cos were Cardiff :ayatollah:

yeh that move did cause some confusion and confrontation, but you can understand why,

your sitting in a good seat behind the goal first half go for a beer and come back to find you cant sit there coz your team are playing toward it ????

yeh was some good outfits there yesterday. had to laugh at the stormtrooper trying to take a piss, classic
