I can confirm Steve Borley paid for the pipes and under soil heating on Our Pitch, but the Club had to pay for the boiler and connection to the boiler etc, but asked The Rugby to go halfs who said said NO to it.
My Opinion, WE are the Landlords so it was our responsibilty and I never thought I would stick up for Rugby lol
Any other Opinions.

It's like renting a room at a house and the landlord asking you to pay for a new fitted kitchen as it's you who does all the cooking there.
(Don't go getting any ideas though, Annis!
)

Totally agree like someone else said your landlord wouldnt ask you to pay for a new boiler or kitchen...... and that fact about Steve paying out for the pipes goe's somewhat to shutting up the person who started the Saint Borley post insinuating that he was on the make and failed to deliver.

My take is that simply put, the money wasn't fully there for the stadium hence the pragmatic approach was to do what could be done at the time.
Can understand why the Blues were asked to contribute, they were perfectly entitled to refuse. Now, if I was running CCFC, I'd thus point out the undersoil heating is thus solely a CCFC thing hence will only be used for CCFC games...
Mon Dec 21, 2009 1:46 pm
But why wasn't all this built into the new ground when it was being constructed? Did they build the ground and then, all of a sudden some one says, "Hang on lads, I can't put my finger on it, but I think there's something fairly important we've left off..."

Who ever it is to blame, the buck must stop at the CEO, that's why he get's paid so much,it can't be about taking the credit for all the good things and blame others for anything else that goes wrong. If the cap fits.
If Steve Borley was involved and made a genuine mistake, I for one would accept his apology, knowing that he's always put the club's best interest first. If however other people have decided to hold off paying out for such a vital piece of equipment, then that stinks,I feel for the Leicester fans, we have all been let down on our travels, but also all our fans from away who had made special arrangements.
It's all well and good PR saying he's angry, when at the end of the day,he's responsible one way or another.

thats a bit like your landlord saying you can only have the heating on when he comes around??

Well, petty, sure, but I'd have problem saying that.
We're contracted to provide a clean branded stadium.
Says nothing about the pitch, afaik...

True, but you can imagine the trust and goodwill we would lose. Not just with the rugby, but I'm sure such an action would make people think differently of us as a professional outfit

I can assure you that Annis looks after his tennants, only last week I saw him walking out of Argos with a £9.99 plug in radiator.

£9.99? Is that for 2 rooms then?

Any more of this, and Annis will be thinking that the title of the thread is about him and us doubting him

Well, as Cardiff Blues were so helpful in this I suggest that they should have been refused permission to play (sic) on the pitch during the months of Dec - March.

I really can't see the rugby being there for too long to be honest...it is income we badly need now and we bend over backwards to give them a "clean stadium"...if we ever get in a position that we don't rely on their money we can turn it into a full on Soccer stadium...with the statue at the front, just Cardiff City badges on the front...CARDIFF CITY FC on the seats and a club shop full of Cardiff City gear...
I really can't see how the Blues can pay their rent, they give more tickets away than they sell...we shall see but it would surprise me to see them at our stadium in a few years time.

You'll always get the hardcore fans that will always be against the stadium move, but I don't think the majority hate it really
In the same way you get people wishing we were still at NP, whereas there's plenty that are glad we've moved. Obviously it's not quite the same, but I don't think the feelings are as negative as people make out

aren't they tied in for so many years?
they would probably have to "buy themselves" out of the contract so I can't see that happening.
Tue Dec 22, 2009 5:31 pm
They are tied into a deal, but if they were to miss payments on rent etc...we could ask them to leave or maybe it would make any contract invalid?

Blues can leave after the first season with zero compensation to CCFC.
The politics of the situation are incredibly easy to understand, Thomas wants his £4m back from CRFC, plus profit on the sale of CAP, land he doesn't actually own... Berman wants "regular" Cl finals at Mill Stad, along with conferencing facilities. WRU happy to finally complete the Mill Stad.
We are utterly irrelevant to it... there are however plenty of people within the Blues setup who are realising that they got shafted on the deal, big time and want to get out of it. The Australia game was the major issue there, not using a DMD meant, given predictions were a full stadium, we charged 100-130k for that single game. Blues attracted 11k fans for that.
Tue Dec 22, 2009 6:16 pm
the thing is we moved 100 yards, the blues have moved from one end of the city to another,
