CRAIG BELLAMY TO CARDIFF - "THE TRUTH"

Prior to going on his holiday Dave Jones left a list of players with the powers that be at CCS to start the process of getting these players in.

The player at the top of his list is none other than Craig Bellamy, even though the papers have been running with this story for a while, I have remained a spectator until my contacts at the club could give me the truth on it's validity. This is the latest information and one that comes directly from our club.

Despite Craig Bellamy being the type of character Dave Jones does not normally go for in the dressing room, he is a very good friend of Dave Jones' and therefore DJ believes that he could handle Bellamy's temprament.

Here are the facts : Cardiff City officials have spoken with Man City and Craig Bellamy.

Craig Bellamy has said that he wants to come to Cardiff City this coming season !

Negotiations have already taken place between Man City and Cardiff City regarding a season long loan to which both clubs are happy to see happen !

Cardiff City are prepared to pay 20% of Bellamy's wages, which amounts to £18,000 per week but Man City are simply not prepared to let Bellamy go on those terms.

It is now down to a couple of issues - either Cardiff City pay more of Bellamy's wage or Bellamy has a fall out with Man City and somehow has his contract ended.

The view is that the move is unlikely to happen now but the positive news is that Cardiff City are showing real ambition and also that Man City are prepared to let Bellamy come on loan ( if the terms are right ) and that Bellamy wants to come now.

I really hope that I will be informing you of his signing but truthfully I cant see it happening as the two clubs are so far apart in terms of the agreement.

But fair play to City and for me this is a statement of their intent.

I for one trust in the Malaysians negotiating skills when it comes to finances and I honestly believe he will sign for us before the season begins.

Although the signs are good. It's difficult to say the club are making the right noises when the clubs are so far apart on the details. We can say that we are making a play for Rooney if we want to, but if we cannot come up with the terms it aint gonna happed.

But I am trying to play it down.

There are numerous clubs that could afford a lon deal for him, but we are lucky that Bellamy is unique in his outlook AND a Cardiff lad.

I know what your saying Wayne but the fact they entered negotiations shows they were serious otherwise they could have simply have 'put something out' in the press, stating they would be looking at Bellamy or something of that effect.

He will prob come next season when he is out of contract and were in the premier league as I cant see City upping the offer, so in my opinion its not going to happen now, but this does show we mean business next season

We are a Championship club and offerring £18k p/w is streching our resources as far as they can go. We can't have it both ways, the club either serious about self constraint or it isn't.

At £18k I'm happy to go for it, anymore then sorry we have to wait until next year; unless another way is found.

I appreciate what you are saying but it is a very complicated issue but it is not dead in the water but as I have said before it is unlikely that a deal will take place.

For arguments sake Man City might say 'if you can take less off Cardiff, you can take less of us' and their position would be perfectly understandable

we pay 18k a week now and the come to an argeement with craig we pay the rest if we are promoted

bellers is going to have to take a drop in wages from man city to sort this, they wont pay 80% for nothing will they. they might pay half, us a quarter and lose a quarter, at best i reckon. heres to hoping though

There has to be a limit on pay. Aside from financial stability, it could be divisive to the team. To my mind, a strong team spirit is the most important factor to consider when pursuing promotion.

You weren't totally wrong HG as I remember Bellamy arguing with a Man U fan and shoving him in the face during the Derby game at OT.

I hope the deal does happen, I'm sure alot more fans will take note and buy season tickets. Aswell as shirt sales just like Fowler!

this is why we aint signed anyone yet. we need to know what he doing before we can commit to other contracts with new players.
