I know it was a dubbed version, but come on Rob, if that song doesn't tickle the nether regions then something is wrong! :ayatollah:

They did sing something though Rob, Chards diary makes reference to it, from memory as its been a very long time, something along the lines of a "hearty song". I can't remember to be honest, but I did spend hour upon hour in the SWB musuem in Brecon when I were a young lad. Last time I visiited, about 15 - 20 years ago all the "sterographic?" pictures had been removed except for a few on the wall. When I was a young un they had thousands in filing cabinets with one or maybe two "steroscophic?" viewers so you could see more or less every picture they had in "3D". In those days they had all the captured weapons on display some of which did appear to be in full working order! The IRA shit put the mockers on that though so 1969 ish was when most display items were taken away never to be seen again! I can remember being taken by my great grandfather to see the trooping out of the colours when the regiment was dissolved, they did play Men of Harlech then, Chief Buthalazy (sorry spelling!) was there would have been around 69/71?

I haven't forgotten about those letters, I'm not sure which box their in but I will dig them out eventually.

If only. 25,000 singing Men of Harlech at full voice. It would make Never walk Alone sound like a Eurovision song contest entry.

Wales v England, 1 point required, Millenium Stadium, 70,000 Welsh men singing Men of Harlech......

If....

Shit, if that happened and there was an instant election Harry Secombe the Jack b*stard would be President of the world

the sad thing 4 us welsh about rorkes drift is that the majority there were english and more paddys than welsh there

Well, considering there was a record amount of Victoria Cross medals given to the Welsh regiment for this battle and if we were the minority, then I would say that it was an even more amazing achievement. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

your right mate chards book does say that. i also frequented the south wales borderers museum on many occasions, and a lot of the sheilds and weapons where removed, although there are some that have made an appearance agaun.
the museum bought jones victoria cross wich is also displayed.
