Anyone heard about this??
From what I've been told, plans are in place (approved by politicians) that will allow a Mosque to be built yards from Ground Zero (the 9/11 twin towers).
Anyone else disgusted by this?
Before I'm called a racist.. I'm disgusted because it was a group of muslim extremists that were responsible for those attacks. Yes, the age old argument of the fact that it wasn't all muslim people.. But it was a group of muslims that were doing it, for religious purposes.

Any reason why we should be disgusted?

Read my last paragraph, I explain why.
And its personal opinion. If you're disgusted, like I am, then yes. If not, then obviously not.

I have little time for any religion tbh. On the face of it it does seem insensitive building a mosque so close to ground zero but the fact is that extremists are on the margins of all religions and politics . Surely you'd have to agree that decent law abiding muslims found the events of 9/11 abhorrent too ?

No you don't, you state that Al-Qaeda attacked the twin towers for religious reasons. They didn't.

Stopping being obstinate we all know MB is referring to the 19 al-Qaeda terrorists who hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners, 2 of which crashed into the WTC twin towers.

I've never disputed that. It was their other "facts" that were a little miss-informed. I wonder if any Malaysians would've used the mosque in New York, seeing as it is official a Muslim country?

I heard it was Israeli secret srevice bombed the twin towers. Doesnt bother me really.

Should they not build churches in Manchester? After all Harold Shipman was Catholic.

So why were the EDL protesting in Dudley and not New York?

There is inequality in the Muslim, religion.
A male suicide bomber kills himself and loads of innocent people as well, he then becomes a martyr and goes to heaven where 72 virgin maidens await his every wish.
A female suicide bomber ( there have been at least 2 in the last 5 years) don't have it quite so good unfortunately, they are also martyrs, but all they have to look forward to is being reunited with their husbands, if they have been married more than once they can pick whichever one they prefer.
I agree that putting a mosque next to ground zero is in bad taste.

Pardon?
Surely the idea of buliding a mosque near ground zero is for the New York community to
show they understand that to persecute an entire faith due to the actions of a few extremists
would as bad as the extremists themselves?

It isn't being built "yards" from ground zero.
It's over two blocks away.
Which is a fair distance, hardly yards.

Derrick Bird was a taxi driver, so no cars should be allowed in Cumbria as it might be offensive.
