When we play struggling teams we have now lost to 3 of the bottom 4 and the other one is Peterborough away on Monday, Jones cant you get your players motivated enough for these struggling teams.

We seem to do worse against the bad teams than against the good teams, its as if the players think they don't have to put the shift in! Pathetic, really.

Playing against the better teams in the division, Jones has set his team up well with the resources at his disposal.
Against the poorer sides his midfield Ledley and Rea sit to deep ( Mcphail is badly missed against the weaker sides). We need Wittingham to play in front of Rea against such teams, with either Etuthu or MacCormack wide left. The distribution from both centrebacks is sloppy, inaccurate and slow. Sometimes all three.
The practise of putting all your players in a 20 metre circle when your keeper is kicking the ball out is a complete waste of time. It surely favours the defending team. If you spread your players around the field, you can kick to your strength and there is more space if you gain possesion.
2 simple rules of football.
(1) Against weaker teams spread the play
(2) Against stronger teams condense the game ( like Plymouth did today and like we usually do against the stronger sides in the league.
Simple, WELL WHY DON'T WE DO IT????????????????
Rant over

Spike good post (Why not 4 3 3 at home??)

(1) you can't play with 3 in midfield against a 5 who are well organised. Against the weaker sides the middle of the four need to play further forward than they are at present and one of the centre backs need to advance and break up attacks when required.
(2) At present we haven't got the calibre of players who could make a 3 man midfield work.

Very true spike we cant play 3 in mid-field against a 5.
Most teams play A 4-5-1 against us, remember if your oppostion doesnt score your guaranteed a point!

It's simple Annis: they come with a physical approach to the game and DJ hasn't got any plan how to overcome it. Yesterday he was clueless. In the interview after the game, true as ever, he distanced himself from the players and said such things like:
"We told them ..."
"They didn't do what we said ... "
Every substitution was like for like. If he can't overcome a rugby league outfit like Plymouth what hope is there in doing battle with Wenger, Ancellotti, Ferguson etc?
