I fairness, Annis in the thread where I asked for it you got the address spot-on.

I've just sent my e-mail.

Hi Gethin,

Firstly may I congratulate you in attaining your new post as Cardiff City FC Chief Executive and welcome you and wish you the best of luck in your time in this important role.

It is with a concern though that I hear that you have decided to remove Gwyn Jones' book from the club shop, branding it as a hooligan title.

As you have been a Cardiff City supporter for many years I am suprised to hear this, as anyone with any nknowledge of the clubs recent history would realise that the RAMS were set up to try to stop City fans causing trouble at away games by travelling on unoffical unreguated transport 'under the radar' of the police. The RAMS gave the valleys fans in particular an organised method of transport with full co-operation with the police to get the hundreds and sometimes thousands of fans from the Valleys to away games with very little in terms of trouble at all.

People like Gwyn and Corky worked extremely hard to make this happen, and this support on the times I travelled with them was largely well behaved and gave fantastic backing to the side.

Gwyn's story is honest and humorous and having read the book I would say that it doesn't glorify hooliganism at all, just gives a forum for some great characters to tell their stories - all about supporting this fine club.

Obviously with your background being the running of a rugby club many fans feel that you may be out of touch with the club. Unfortunately this decision provides fuel for that claim. Please at least meet with Gwyn to explain the decision face to face with him. or better still revoke the ban.

Once again, all the best for the coming months and years, there is a lot to do. The club shop is one thing that needs improving - the selection of CCFc gear is awful and given that half of the shops space is being given to the Blues, it seems to have even less to offer than the old 'corner shop' at np -don't make it worse by getting rid of one of the few things in there worth buying !

Best Regards,

Tim Wegener

Hello Gethin,

I am Thomas Fish, a young Cardiff City fan from the Valleys. This is just a short email to tell you how upset I am and I have to admit I am very insulted at your decision to pull the Valley Rams book from the shelves of the Cardiff City "superstore". If you would take the time to read the book I will be grateful, you will also then realise that this book does not promote hooliganism and infact the Valley Rams helped keep 'City fans under control, reducing the number of violent clashes, banning orders, etc. The club shop quite frankly is a joke, there is a wider variety of Cardiff Blues merchandise than Cardiff City and not selling a Cardiff City book is throwing away money.

You ban Gwyn Davies' book yet you keep "united we fall" by Peter Ridsdale who is no longer associated with this football club and infact the book is about Leeds United, nothing to do with CCFC.

I am not alone, at the time of writing there are 471 members on a website backing Gwyn. Source:

Please take the time to read the book, I hope to see it on the shelves of Cardiff City Stadium again soon!

I don't expect an email, I expect action,

Thomas Fish (aged 16)
