its good money and Id take it , lets be honest is he going to have another 20 goal season and how much does he actually contribute to the team over the full season ? On the other hand should CCFC hold out for a better offer from a prem league team , DJ Im sure could bring in 2 decent players for the £2mil

Although he can be a bit 'lazy' at times, he is a player that can create that bit of magic. Scoring goals and unlocking defences in crucial games. If we do have to sell him, we should try to stay clear of a team that will be one of our main challengers for promotion.

he takes a mean penalty, his delivery from out wide is fantastic, he is Premier League quality through and through. Where else other than the Premier League would we get a midfielder to score 20+ goals in a season and that would cost us a damn site more than £2 million. Give him a new contract I say.

I agree. a bargain at £250,000 now lets hang on to him. To buy a player of this quality now, would probably cost somewhere in the region of 2.5 - 3 million quid!

Yeah, I wouldn't accept £3.5m or less. Anything more I would but only if they're a Premiership team. Selling to a rival is out of the question in my eyes.

50/50 on him I am. He can creat those incidences that turn a match. I find him at his strongest when he plays central midfield with his distribution deadly. On the wing though he is quite good at doing the business but lacks the speed hence why I think his best position is central midfield.
Alot of guys says he goes missing which is a fair point. However our midfield has been hot and cold this season and I feel he is the one that suffers most from this. He is not a tackler/battler of 50/50s but win him the ball and he will most likely rip a defence apart with his distribution power. The PO final was proof of that with our 2 goals.
Put Whitts alongside the like of Alan Smith or Joey Barton and he will be deadly. Unfortunately for him I dont think there is a midfield line in this league that can provide that for him and that especially includes Forest.

I agree with Martyn on this one, he is so frustrating sometimes and we need someone with youth and consistency. Im sure whittingham can command a higher fee than £2million tho
