Ive still got the original book he wrote and on his last ever match he attended at Ninian Park, he came to my house with his family before the game and left it on my kitchen table, saying the following "Long may the Dream Continue even without me'' to my Friend Annis.
:ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I dont care what anyone says I AM SO GLAD HE CAME TO OUR CLUB and I HAVE MADE A TRUE FRIEND :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Yes & we were three points clear at the top of the Championship. When he arrived in 2000 we had just been relegated to the second division.

I personally liked Sam, and without him I think we could have quite likely as a club folded, yes he made some mistakes, but by christ did`nt he give us a right good rollercoaster of ride during his time at the club.

I wish him well.

I remember Sam being given a standing ovation by the whole ground before kick off. No matter how sour things turned out at the end it's impossible to see us being anywhere other than the very lower leagues without the things Sam put in motion and for that reason he will always have my respect.

If I remember that game not only did Loovens score one of his rare goals but didn't a certain Steve Howard score a late equaliser for Derby?

Yes he did, a game we dominated & should have won comfortably, if i remember correctly. We switched off in the last ten minutes, do we ever learn!
