It seems to me he has plucked this expression out of the air, without giving a proper explanation. It would be very interesting to know why the book is 'inappropriate' without us having to make assumptions.
Finally the stock issue is a complete red herring and frankly an insult to our intelligence if the CEO thinks we are swallowing that one.

THE WHOLE CONCEPT OF MY BOOK
by BigGwynram » Mon Jun 07, 2010 1:51 pm
Mad ain't it, if ever there was a book that was against hooliganism, this is it. Someone has commneted about the cover, just shows how ignorant and short sighted they are, the thought behind the cover is to show how far we come. it shows the violence that had blighetd the club and then shows the Police holding up a valley Rams flag with broad smiles on their faces.
As a group we new that for our club to move forward we had to change things, and change them we did, during our existence, the arrest figures showed record falls year on year, since wehave folded the figures have increased again year on year.
The foreword in my book is written by Doctor Cliif Stoot is the most emminent academic involved in Football studies and he still uses our history and experiences at the Rams in all his lectures related to football matters.
I was asked to speak to 300 senior Police match commanders at Liverpool Uni about what we had acheived, does all this sound like a glorification of hooliganism.
I am proud of what the Rams helped to acheive and to have it dismissed in this way is like a kick in the bollocks.

Rise and Fall of the Valley Rams(SUPPORT Big Gwyn Davies)

Started reading at one o'clock today and finished about an hour ago (says it all really), an excellent read and what I liked the most was the Authors honesty, he could have "Bigged" Cardiff and the fans up as Invincible, butter wouldn't melt etc, but just told it as it was, I don't envy him for organising all those coaches and dealing with some of the bullshit that went on though
The only negative for me was that I didn't wan't the book to end!
A big thankyou and congratulations to Gwyn for writing this insightful book.

DENYING OUR HISTORY
by BigGwynram » Tue Jun 08, 2010 5:53 pm
Why deny history, my book does not glorify or condone hooliganism, in fact it shows that we the fans recognised we had a problem and new that if we wanted to progress as a club we would have to do something ourselves to change things.
I would often say that the way to reduce hoolganism was to make people feel a part of "THEIR" club and take some resposibility rather than maintain a them and us situation that had existed so many times before. In the days gone by the more restrictions or heavy handed we were treated the worse we would react.
Many people had the vision of the RAMS as drunken marauding hordes, well we never set out to change peoples drinking habits or life style, we are just fellow fans not the thought police.
What we tried to emphasise was that the vast majority of Cardiff fans didn't wake up on the morning of the match planning to have a punch up or riot, they did plan to have a good drink, so wasn't it better to facilitate that, keep everyone together, find them suitable pubs near the ground and limit the possibility of serious disorder, which was simple and worked well until after reducing the serious disorder instead of aknoweldging how far we'd come and help stop serious problems, it was then a case of O.K. we've stopped the problems so now we can stop the drinking.
Well do you think the situation at Chelsea will do us more harm than having a reputation for being a load of drunks (but friendly drunks if treated properly) Scottish fans are seen as in the main a load of drunks, but not seen as trouble makers unless provoked, is that such a bad thing.
Rather than deny our history, isn't it better to aknowledge it and show how far we have come, pretending it didn't happen doesn't mean that it didn't happen.
