The Vice Chairman of The Cardiff City Trust

Mike Roderick(The NEW Elected Vice Chairman), I met Mike today after we have in the past had a lot of different issues/opinions etc, but also had many of the same Opinions as well, standing up to the Riddler/The March/Demonstrations etc

As everyone knows I am not a big fan of the Trust, but have had some Respect for them due to Keith Morgan(Since 62) and Tracey the secretary being prominent Members, but in the past the majority of the Committee, I have had No Time whats so ever for and I make no bones about it, there still are some Members on the Committee that I feel still hold them back, but thats just My Opinion.

Mike Roderick, is an out spoken person and says what he feels like me, whether you like it or not, but he also is 100% the type of person who will stand up to the Club like Keith Morgan when he feels the club are not doing whats best best for Cardiff City. Now in the past, like last Season while the Riddler was here, The Trust in My opinion, NEVER stood up to him.I am not going to go on and on about that again, but What I am trying to say, I Believe strongly with Mike and Keith virtually at the Helm, I feel we might have a totally different Approach This Season, and I for one WELCOME THIS,as Our Club and the way its run, needs to be watched and Questioned strongly.
So heres to hopefully a New beginning by the Trust and hopefully a strong Trust

The Trust got nabbed by Riddler who got into their heads and played a very canny mind control game. He had them eating out of his hand.

In 20 years time when my kids have grown up and my business is looking after itself I'll consider standing for election on the Trust, but I would only do it if I knew I could give it 100% commitment.

At the moment I couldnt give that committment but I wish it well, it can be a real force for good and hold the club to account and make sure fans views are heard and most importantly respected.

annis I think its fair to say that we disagree on many things but I think that the trust is a good thing for cardiff city on the whole

its made mistakes , thats for sure but the truth is we are all city fans and for too long we have argued like kids between ourselves

this club is a great club and if we all agree to disagree from time to time but get behind it , we can go a long way

most of us remember the days of crap crowds and defeats by the likes of lincoln city and darlington ( no disrespect meant )

and hopefully we will never go back to those times

with regard to ridsdale I think all of us , wether we were in the trust , supporters club or just fans who turned up week in week out were conned and tricked by ridsdale at some point

thank god he has gone and I will say that I as a member of the trust I along with plenty of other trust members supported the march and would do so again whoever organised it if I thought it was the right thing to do

plenty of supporters were messed about by ridsdale , not just the trust

annis will be the first to say that ridsdale spoke to the fans at one of the forums that was arranged , it sounded like good news from all who were there but then withinn just a few weeks ridsdale was up to his old tricks again

its not a trust and ridsdale thing , he had lots of fans eating out of his hands from all sections of our support

lets not forget that

I really appreciate that Annis and you never spoke a truer word. Nice coffee shop BTW although it felt a bit like an episode of Friends Next time, I'm buying but go easy on the bacon sarnies
The Trust is there for ALL fans and moving on together is the only way even if we disagree some times.

As Mike knows, we spoke over PM a fair bit when he first got elected because I wanted to hear it all from the horse's mouth and he impressed me. He is making the right noises and where as before the elections I was very much reluctant to join the Trust, I will be joining when the season starts.

So heres to hopefully a New beginning by the Trust and hopefully a strong Trust

I have been very critical of the trust for many reasons including the fact that it is "in bed with the other board" but have been very impressed with MR and the way he posts on here impartialy, informative and constructive

Seriously though , as Annis says elsewhere here , we need to put behind us the stupidity of "my board is better than your board" attitudes. Like Mike , I post on both because I enjoy joining in the discussions and arguments on both.I also get annoyed with some of the numpties who post on both , but its a free world and just because we don`t agree on some topics doesn`t make either side of an argument less important (except I am always right of course ).

Mike is a fine poster ,a gentleman and a scholar ,and a great addition to the Trust board. I am sure he would tell you that other board members , for all our faults , don`t fall into the "in bed" category either.

I agree with what you say, recently my opinion of the trust has changed and I think this is partialy due to Mike, maybe my post came accross the wrong way

I used the trust forum to find out about the trust, the trust forum (link from trust website) is part of the MM board I was looking on the trust forum and then went onto the MM board there was a post on the MM board forgive me what it was but I think it was when the trust met TG the post on the MM board by MM himself was something like exclusive news from trust meeting yet there was no such post (at that time on the trust section) I have not used either board since

anyway I feel a lot more psotitive about the trust now than I did in the past and no longer am critical of it I have moved on

I know Mike's outspoken, he sits two seats behind me........ Blimey, I've learnt a few new words this last season

Joking aside, congratulations Mike, really pleased you are taking up that role - I know from your passion over every 90 minutes how much you love the club. All the best mate.
