I go shooting Wild Fowl and the odd beaters day. Must admit I prefer the beating side, days co inside so I don't miss any home games.

Have a look at the BASC website http://www.basc.org.uk/ this site will give a lot of advise. Worth joining a clay club to get used to using a gun, will also good for contacts. There are a number of Gun dog Clubs around who may hold dog training classes.
