I agree with your headline, however, in an ideal world we'd have had more experienced and established players available last season, which would have allowed DJ to bring through Matthews and Wildig, to gain the experience they needed, at a better pace for them and the club.

They both put in good shifts over the season however, but they also had their frailties. In Matthews's case, it was that he gave his winger too much space to collect a pass, which enabled his opponent to have a run at him, or cross the ball uncontested on occasion. With Wildig, he had a back problem and needed to grow and bulk up a bit more than he has to date. I still think that they'll prove to be very good players though!

I think we were spoiled with Ramsey, as he seemed to have it all from the off!
