Wayne Nash
Jane (spelt my name wrong how dare he)
I have now spoken to our Head Groundsman (Phil) after his return from leave.
We visited the Athletic stadium outer pitch’s to find them very, very dry and unsuitable for use – we are both of the opinion that any game should be postponed until the Football season gets underway and pitch’s get time to recover from the current dry spell.
A date in August (15th or 22nd) is therefore more suitable.
In addition Scott Young has now confirmed his willingness to play and manage the other team but he also is not available in July due to his involvement with the Academy pre season fixture list and training schedule.
I know you are keen to progress but a successful and well planned event is better than one rushed and botched.
Regards
Wayne
Let me know what you all think and if these dates are good enough and if so get your names down...need 22 players for this one each team

Hughesgirl,
In seriousness 22 per team is far to many - It showed last night
I think we should stick to a squad of fourteen or fifteen and running training sessions three to four weeks in advance - after last night we still have much to learn
Just my opinion but I would not want to play with such large numbers as it was hard enough giving people game time and trying to keep a unit.

I have no choice Dobbin...Wayne Nash wants 22 players with rolling subs

I would check with him but 22 players for each team is far to many thats 44 in total - too much
I could understand 11 per team with three or four rolling subs but thats far to many and i think the turn out wont happen - just my opinion

I do agree and think we need to put this in detail to Nash, After all I do think he needs to be reasonable about this after all jayne has gone to alot of trouble in organising some quality raffle prises, If we all do our bit and sell tickets we should raise a fair bit of money towards the Statue plus the fact we are also paying for the charity match also.

I have sent Wayne Nash an email and have explained what you have said..so i will wait & see what he says on that
but jsut wondering could we make 4 teams? only problem being is you would have alot of games to play in one day i suppose....arrgghh im trying to think a way round it....perhaps i will wait for an email back 1st

Worst comes to worse we just agree to the 22 players on each team and see how many we can get. If we get 22 on each team then everyone gets 45 minutes each. I can't see us getting 22 players for each team though so it would make sense to do 11 a side with 5-6 rolling subs.
See what he says anyway I guess. I don't understand why he wants 22 players on each side though. If it's about the money then a collection amongst supporters will aid that.

To be totally hoeat with you Zabier i do believe its about the money!!! but surely the raffle tickets will bring in loads of money as i will be getting loads of prizes and good ones at that!
Im sure we can get round it like i stated i have mentioned all this to Wayne

I will ensure the outer training u16’s pitch at Leckwith Rd is prepared.
Shall we say 2pm Kick –Off.
This is your match play it as you want – Rolling subs gets more people to play and contribute to the statue.
You keep asking me for players – I can’t provide these. However, I will ask Scott if he can bring a community goal keeping coach.
You should ask David Craig for support and to provide this info
1) Can our teams borrow your players old kits for the game, would look good to see them all wearing the same?
Don’t think the Kit man will let shirts out – Im sure most have city tops?
2) Can a Cardiff Shirt be donated & signed for free from you?
Yes
3) Are we allowed to have food/ drink stalls?
Not at Cardiff City Stadium – I will arrange for a bar to be provided post match if you wish.
4) If i can real radio to come down & maybe play music in the background before & after the game?
Not an issue for us.
5) Would Ali (if he says Yes) can he commentate the game?
Im sure he’d get involved but how? Will you have a PA?
Regards
Wayne
