Reasons to be wary of Hammam

Thu Jul 01, 2010 9:12 am

Hammam's lack of openess about his financial dealings with the club left the normal fan feeling suspicious about his involvement. Why couldn't he honest and open?

His lack of business skills left the club close to administration, while his business plans for the stadium were so woeful that the council dismissed them.

His massive ego meant that he was unable to deal with the local business community which left the club isolated and poorly funded.

While he seemingly enjoyed the glamour of being with the 'lads' you'd rarely seem him with the other groups of fans we have like the children, pensioners, family groups, ethnic communities, etc. He created an agreesive club with an aggressive atmosphere which can only take you so far.

Hammam is not a team player. He's a dictator who only wants to do things his way.

For these and many other reasons I don't want him anywhere near this club

I can only suggest that is because the 'lads' had more to say about the club and more of an input than the other groups you mentioned. It's who puts themselves out there and has influence and more of an active role. Do you get my meaning?

But surely a decent chairman should reach out to all sections of our support?

Close to admin? Wasn't that a few week ago. No sorry my mistake, that was being wound up wasn't it, that's right, I remember, out of business all together. Sam wasn't here though a few weeks back was he?

His massive ego meant that he was unable to deal with the local business community which left the club isolated and poorly funded.

Yes our dealings with the business community over the last few years have been great haven't they. My favourite was the company that sponsored our shirts at the start of last season - invisible something I think they were called.
Our business dealings of the last few years have been "do work for us but don't expect to get paid." When companies owned by our own directors are not getting paid what hope did the rest of the local business community have?

What like walking around the pitch before games shaking peoples hand for instance?

He created an agreesive club with an aggressive atmosphere which can only take you so far.

Ninian Park had an intimidating atmosphere long before Sam came and after he left. He actually did loads of work taming the fans when he first arrived.

Hammam is not a team player. He's a dictator who only wants to do things his way.

Actually Sam loves a good debate. Anyway why are people harping on about a so-called inner circle. Surely an inner circle would be a team wouldn't it? You can't have it both ways.
For these and many other reasons I don't want him anywhere near this club
