Sam Hamman

Annis, Carl et al,

Bit confused by mixed messages over the years and hope you guys can clarify.

Was under the impression that when Hamman came and City splashed the cash on players, wages, stadium that this wasn't investment by Hamman but loans he was making to the club? Are these the Langston loans we are now in debt too?

I do recall the way Hamman left under a cloud as the new stadium wouldn't have gone ahead with him at the helm?

I may be completely wrong and rely on your knowledge on the matter.

Finally making my long awaited return as a season ticket holder after jacking in local league football. (saturday games!)

As a regular in the late 80's ealy 90's was wondering if characters such as De De, Jerky, Pollcock, Johnathon and psycho from Barry still attended???

Cheers lads.

Sam owed money to Citibank on loans he borrowed against his name when Citibank wanted their money Sam found lenders in the name of Langston to pay Citibank but again these loans were not secured to the club.

Langston have never threatened to put the club into administration during the time that the club has owed them money, the club has always recognised they owe Langston monies but the club has failed on several occasions to honour it's side of the agreement but with the Malaysians now at the club then hopefully it can be resolved finally.

In other words, yes.

Hammam borrowed millions which CCFC have to repay.

MORE OR LESS YES. ITS FAR MORE COMPLICATED AS SH HAS AGREED TO REDUCE THIS BILL - LANGSTONE/SAM TAKING THE HIT, BUT ITS MERE PRESENCE STILL AFFECTS THE CLUB AS IT MAKES IT HARDER TO GET OTHER INVESTMENT IN, PARTICULARLY AS EACH TIME THERE IS AN 'AGREEMENT' THERE SEEMS TO BE SOME DOUBT BROUGHT UP A FEW MONTHS LATER AS TO ITS LEGALITY. IN SAM'S DEFENSE THOUGH, THAT MONEY DID GET US PROMOTED TWICE AND GET SOME OF THE PLANNING/GROUNDWORK/DESIGN WORK DONE FOR THE STADIUM.

IT CERTAINLY APPEARED THAT WAY, AND HE VIRTUALLY ADMITTED THAT HIMSELF.

Unsecured loan.

Meaning worst comes to worst, admin or worse happen, Langston would be bottom of the pile.
Whereas other debtors are secured, meaning they are top of the pile.

But I suspect you already knew that.

Yes, I do.

But it hangs like the Sword of Damocles above our head.

Well I'm not too sure about that now Claude. As you know a couple of years ago Sam via Langstons took us to court. If I recall right he was not going to put us in administration but use a court victory to get back in the club. It was Ridsdale who was going to put us into admin if we lost the case. However this case came along due to the mistrust Sam had for the then regime. They stabbed him in the back.

Now its a different situation. A new regime which Sam feels happy about. I personally dont feel Sam will go down that track again. Then again big boys do fall out. However, I dont see these Damocles above our heads like they have been for the last few years with regards to this part of the debt.
