Income Streams for this season

Sun Jul 04, 2010 4:48 pm

Does anyone know the value of the payments that we will receive from Premier League, TV, Championship, etc this season?

Thanks,

Mike

What ever it is, its probably already been spent, before PR left!

Our share of the general Football League pot will be £3m (went up last season from the previous level of £1.2m).
There will also be a bonus of a further £1m due to Newcastle and WBA getting promoted and losing their parachute payments which instead get spread out between all the other clubs (except the 3 coming down as they get their own).

TV money will depend on how many times we are on Sky. If we do well , we will have more matches than if we are struggling , but we did pretty well out of it last season and it could earn us up to another £2m (more likely to be half that).

There is also a bit of a bonus the higher up the Championship you finish out of a seperate prize pot , but that tends to be in hundreds of £k rather than the millions you get in the Premiership for the same thing.

Keith, in relation to income streams, do you know how long the agreement is with Compass? Do you know if there is a figure to buy us out of any contract?

Obviously we had some monies up front, and we may not of had the money to buy equipment etc, however surely this is a form of stream the club should be controlling?

Yeah you're right I've just found the story on the web, worth £48m.

Does anybody know how this is split up, paymentt wise?

Thanks Keith,

Any idea what the 2010-2011 season annual outgoings are going to be taking into account the administration and player cost reductions?

I believe its 10 years as well Annis.

And just in case Stavross gets overexcited by the figures he has found , the £48m is the estimated sales value of the contract to Compass , not its value to the club.

The club received just over £2m as an upfront payment for the contract , all of which was used up towards the stadium fitout costs. In addition , the club is entitled to further slaes commissions if sales each season are above a certain level. Alan Flitcroft was of the opinion that those levels were highly unlikely to be regularly exceeded so there is not likely to be much by way of further income the club will get over the contract period.

Cheers Since 62, I thought the figure may be less than that - £48m does sound nice at the moment though!
