As we are now late with another tax bill, we now have a court hearing on the 11th August. An embargo has now automaticaly been placed on us. We pay this week (?), we then still have to go to court on the 11th August to get order withdrawn, so an embargo stays until 11th August?

No.
If an embargo is in place (and I am not certain it is ) then it will be removed as sonn as the League provide evidence that the tax debt has been paid off or an arrangement reached with HMRC for its payment.

I wonder how many football clubs do this then and is this a new stance by the HMRC to highlight the goings on ?

Thanks for that. Crumbs of comfort, but at the moment, anything is welcome!
