Joe thanks for the memories BUT

Thu Jul 08, 2010 2:38 am

Joe thank you so much for 2 goals at Wembley you made me the happiest man in the world at the time of scoring
Thank you for playing for us and giving your all, Thank you for that goal at Swansea, Thank you for playing when injured

BUT

As a Cardiff boy and somebody who 100% loves his home City and football team how can you make a decision to join Celtic and not help out the club and sign for Stoke and give us the windfall that just might keep us afloat. You are a Fairwater boy and you are probably the best paid 23 yr old from Fairwater that has or ever will be. In the last 3 years you have amassed more than most S Walians will in a lifetime in wages. Cardiff City has been good for you and have set you for life. My father always said to me when you are a guest at somebody´s house and you use 6 eggs you should always make sure when you leave you put 6 eggs back in the fridge. Believe me when I say this in the same situation Phil Dwyer would have never done this.

GOOD LUCK JOE

Interesting, Martyn. I've read the many rumours on here regarding this and it seems Joe is being painted in a rather unfair way. I say thanks, and good luck Joe

Football is a very short career and can be even shorter with a career threatening injury possible at any time. I don't blame him one bit for trying to maximise his earning potential with Celtic. He has been a magnificent servant to our club and its fans playing a big part in last seasons attempted push for promotion even while carrying two debilitating hip injuries which would have stopped most footballers from performing. I am sure our club will try and put their spin on things once he has gone but they have had enough opportunity to tie him down to a contract over the last couple of years but they failed to do so. The lad has been messed about something rotten and it stinks. I for one would like to wish him well for the future and I am sure he will soon become a fans favourite with Celtic because like us they love a tryer up there. You will all realise how good he was for our club once he's gone, it's a sad day. Let's hope this Danny Drinkwater can fill his ample boots.

I couldn't have put this better myself. some people are never happy, even considering what he's done for City

So if you were offered a job for £13,000 a week and at the same time you were offered another job at £25,000 a week, you would take the job for £13,000 a week? yeah right of course you would

Re: Joe thanks for the memories BUT

To put it in some perspective if he stayed with us on £13,000 a week and Celtic offered him a 3 year contract for £25,000 per week it would cost him £1,872,000  I wouldn't sniff at that    no doubt he will have win bonuses on top of that and a Champions League game or two - no contest.

Also Joe I know you are a bit of a family orientated man but did you really understand when you signed for Celtic alot of ½ the population of Glasgow will hate your guts, some of these boneheads will not of any hesitation of abusing you and the mrs when you are out shopping at tescos or out trying to have a night out with friends and family´in a pub and some piss pot starts calling you a Finian b*stard. You think the East Stand were hostile to you well believe me Stoke will look like Monte Carlo in the End!!!!!!!!!!!

Joe is out of work, CCFC f**k up his move to Stoke, CCFC withdrew his new contract offer, Joe DOES NOT WANT TO MOVE AWAY but has no further option but to go to Celtic. Joe has served us well and deserves such a better send off for his service to new pastures..........

Good luck to him, I know in his heart he'll ALWAYS be a Bluebird :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I agree with every thing you have typed up to the BUT :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

As a Cardiff boy Joe has alays just wanted to play for CCFC and be up the top with the rest - throughout the years he has done well with the abiltiy he has got - over time CCFC has not always done him right! (whislt other players around him have been given the golden egg) - everything will be seen clearly in time.

WHY would/SHOULD Joe HELP out the club that has messed up on his moves to a team nearer to his home and family and playing the football he wants to and has always aspired too - i don' think Joe would sit in his bedroom chatting to his bro saying you know what - when i grow up i want to play S.P.L" !!! think about it :ayatollah:

Joe being a Cardiff boy would not CHOOSE Celtic up in Scotland IF HE had a better option - and does this not say to you just that he is taking THE best option to him - even though it is SPL!

OH and do you know Phil Dwyer well enough to bet your house that he would not have gone where the big money was and what is best for his future financially ;) - remember times have changed as have the footballers.

Footballers nowadays dont have a fag in the warm up or half time and dont go on the piss with their mates after the game in the local pubs or have a fry up for brekkie before the game - this all has to be remembered when players move to different clubs - it is a job.

(Danishblue this is not aimed at you this is now me just saying points)

AND all the posts say about him going where the money is and not for the football - and he should not go for the cash - GET REAL!
He is a 23 yr old Fairwater lad (who is not academically bright - no offence to Joe just being realistic) his skill has been footie he has a few years to get his financial gain from the game - he is due to have a baby - he got a misses (who does not work) BOTH aren't cheap!!!

I wish him well and I DO hope he does get played and it works out for him - and who knows in a few years time he may come back to CCFC - I would never turn my back on him due to the f**k up's of CARDIFF CITY FOOTBALL CLUB and admit it there has been a lot over the last few years!!!!

Re: Joe thanks for the memories BUT

Thu Jul 08, 2010 1:25 pm

Why should he have to worry about the financial mess our club is he? Hardly his fault. He can go and play where he likes.
Celtic are a better club than Stoke and he'll achieve more there than he ever would at Stoke.

Re: Joe thanks for the memories BUT

Thu Jul 08, 2010 1:57 pm

Sorry Spaceman but an SPL winners medal or playing in the Prem (with Stoke) is a no brainer, I seriously believe after the 2years in the premiership and the novelty folds Celtic and Rangers would be yo yo clubs between the prem and championship if they were ever allowed in. Lets face it its a purely financial decision his football skills are not going to improve playing against the likes of Motherwell and St Johnston every 2nd week???? Becoming an even better football player or take the money we know which decision hes taken. Good Luck Joe :ayatollah:

Re: Joe thanks for the memories BUT

Thu Jul 08, 2010 2:37 pm

i wonder how many City fans would turn down
A few million pounds if it meant they had to move
Away from Cardiff for a couple of years??

Joe has done nothing wrong

Danish Blues analogy about the eggs is
All very well, but were talking about Cardiff
City football Club here... They would have ate
The eggs the cheese the milk the bread the
Bacon... And replaced f**k all!!

Joe owes the football club f**k all

Peg, Joe had no option but to go to Celtic. CCFC screwed up negotiations with Stoke as that was his preferance but Stoke pull out due speaking to 4 different people at our club and each with a different spin so they pulled out, City withdrew their offer to Joe therefore leaving him in a pickle as to Celtic and Roma only left. Joe had no option mate, even late lastnight he was upset. He got shit on by CCFC and he deserves such a better send off than he is getting, I feel for the lad as he is truly gutted whereas he should be happy he finally got his future sorted out.

Thank you Richardbluebird

Thu Jul 08, 2010 3:04 pm

I didnt know that CCFC had managed to FÅCK up the negotiations so completely and I am sorry if I was a bit scathing maybe our INEPT backroom staff should be in the firing line, sorry again but last night I was thinking more as a Splottite and Cardiff City through and through fan maybe I should have waited for the truth to come out. Mind I still think Joe wont know what hits him with the Blue half of Glasgow.

Disagree personally

Don't believe that he'd achieve anything with Stoke, they're just an average, hoof ball, mid table/soon to be lower half Premiership club

If Celtic get back to like they were a few years ago then they will be playing some of the top clubs in Europe and putting up a good fight against them.

Mid table/bottom half Premiership acheiving nothing at all or possiblity of winning medals, even if its a weaker league, and playing in the Champions League against potentially the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter, Bayern

I know what I'd pick, with a bigger wage too
