If he goes to the spl im sure a lot of us fans will be shocked,i have got to question his self belief, does he know his limitations and is wary of the prem league in terms of his ability-i think so.I cannot see why any 23year old footballer would choose spl over a good premiership side,no offence to the scot lads on here, but there is no comparisons with the leagues. The other point raised by others regarding joe ie,he has been on low wages, footy is a short career etc etc,he would of had 25k basic at stoke,a hefty signing on fee, maybe a 4yr contract, for me he would of been set for life with that contract alone, that is why i question his decision.kris boyd had a great season, yet boro signed him,how good would joe have to perform in order to get a prem side in time?

I think he'll go to Celtic. Maybe joe is not as daft as he looks, IMHO he is not good enough to play in English premiere league. I have never really rated him and maybe someone has advised him the move to Celtic would suit him better. Real drama for us though, losing 3 mil is a nightmare.

Purely in relation to compensation Terry Phillips is closer to reality in the statement he makes.
When Terry Phillips states "City would get a negligible amount from Celtic because of FIFA rules determining international transfers. The strict compensation criteria does not apply if a player leaves one country to join a football system in another", there are two statements which actually contradict one another. He claims that city will get negligible compensation because of FIFA rules determining international transfers, then he says that the strict compensation rules do not apply when a player leaves one country to join a football system in another. So which statement, if either, is correct or is our Terry just covering all bases because he doesn't really know. Terry should read Annex 4 of FIFA statutes on player status and transfers.
Mark Bloom states "Fifa rules over international transfers mean that Celtic do not have to pay the money to Cardiff that Stoke would have been forced to part with." But that's his take on the situation today which is completely different to his take yesterday where he stated "Fifa rules over international transfers mean that Celtic do not have to pay the compensation to the Bluebirds that Stoke would have." Again Mark needs to reads Annex 4 of FIFA Statutes.
So in answer to the question Which One Is The Truth the answer is neither but having said that Terry Phillips is the closer to the truth.

Ledley is going to Scotland because they are paying the most money, no other reason.

i don't see how the two articles contradict each other!
