OK, so this board and CCMB mentioned it on here before the paper went out, but the wider public saw it in the Echo first. This board, and CCMB, are a very small percentage of City fans, and certainly smaller than the amount of City fans who read Media Wales publications. But then I'm only guessing on that.
It's up to Joe who he goes to. He was given the 2 deals from Stoke and Celtic, chose the best one for him and his family and doesn't want to shape his future on going to a club he doesn't really want to be at just so someone elses debts and financial mis-management can be sorted out. That's someone elses job.
So he said he wants to test himself at the highest level. So do most players. He never said in the past that he wanted to go to Stoke, but also he has never said he wanted to go to Celtic. There's a good chance he will be playing in Europe next season. Could Stoke have offered him that? OK, so he'll be playing St Mirren, Motherwell, etc most weeks next season as opposed to Man United, Chelsea, etc. His choice and certainly nothing for anyone on this, or any other board, to get wound up about. Again, his choice. We have no divine right to keep hold of him. Would you stay with your company when another is offering you better terms, prospects and double the money? And don't give me the old 'but football is different' line. It isn't. If it is, in what way?
Give the bloke a break. I'm sure if he hadn't been fucked around by people at the club in the past, he may have signed on with us next season. But who knows? For me, he's been a great player for us, he's 23, he may not be at Celtic for the rest of his career (thanks for that, Tucker) and may end up at a better club than Stoke anyway. Again, who knows? Are there any other players out there who would have played for us when they needed 2 hip operations and, not only that, come back early from injury to do so? I think some people on here need to remember that as well
