Blackpool's promotion .

Mon Jul 12, 2010 6:39 am

Interesting thought here seeing as Blackpool HAVE to play at least their 1st 2 home games away coz their stadium isnt ready for Prem League football yet ( 17,500 max ) , so how come then they were not inspected at the start or during the season to see if they were elligable for promotion ? This goes on in non league football where promotion to a higher league occurs and standards increase and the teams involved have to pass an inspection before promotion .............. maybe points deduction for not being able to fulfill fixtures ? I aint bitter ;) but maybe we should go up instead and all our problems be over and Ledley can cry himself to sleep   :ayatollah:

I agree Mart.

I think its ridiculous that a team which wasn't ready for the Prem is allowed up when we had all the facilities in place. If it was promotion from the Conference to the lague they would not have been allowed up at our expense.

Totally agree Martyn, teams in lower leagues get Refused on those grounds.

It's only their opening game vs Wigan that is affected. They did ask the Premier League for an away game on the opening day, but they still ended up with a home match. It means they play at Wigan and Arsenal before their first home game vs Fulham on 28th August.

They now play Wigan at home in middle of April, meaning they have 5 of their last 7 games at home, which could give them an advantage in any relegation fight, (providing they havent gone down by the end of March  )

That's what is wrong with modern day football though.
