he rang a local newcastle radio station, saying he new moat, and could help him.
then apperently got a taxi to see moat, and turned up with , beer, chicken, bread, sleeping bag and a fishing rod.
and told police let me go fishing with him and il talk him around
gazza was hammered.

I totally agree, but it was hilarious. I wonder just what would have happened if they had let him negotiate and talk with Moat ?
