Could your work do that to you if you went for other jobs?

No - thats what Agents are for anyway, and he never put his name forward to anyone anyway.

Yes. Just 3 weeks before the new season, lets sack our manager. That will go down well. :|

If we wanted to get rid of him, we should have done it after the PO Final. Too late to do it now.

Well, hypothetically, should such a situation occur, it would be a good way of reducing an expensive element of the wage bill without having to pay out a years salary in the process...

It happens anyway, if A Manager wants to work his employment somewhere else, he simply resigns and waives any contractual payments.

Agreed, Steve, however, rolling 1 year contract means we fire him, we stump up 800k.

I very much doubt he'd resign based upon that fact. I'd also doubt any other club would offer him a similar deal, so really why would Jones willingly resign when he's on a very nice, cushy deal? And why would any club want him when they'd have to pay high compensation?

If he resigns, who would we get in that's currently out of work and is a better manager than him? Why would we want to get rid of him with 3 weeks left before the new season starts?

Who says he wants away? it's only coming from messageboards and the so called " Midfield General".

A club would pay Compo if they wanted him- because thats what happens if you are sought after.

As for this Cushy number...... were you aware that Jones actually deferd his wages last season , to ensure that the staff got paid. You probably were not but thats the actions of a decent fella.

Also on top of that Ridders tried to tuck him up, with TG ,not going into detail on that one but it did happen and probably hepled Jones to see what a turncoat the former Chairman was, adding to the list of the Martin Oneils , David Olearys of this world who have all seen through the Riddler!

Is that the way to treat a a man who defered his salary last season to ensure the staff got paid and the club survived going bust for good.

Glad I dont live in your world MR Midfield General ...... theres a saying in life that you should follow " always treat someone, the way you expect to be treated yourself " on that basis with you calling DJ a C**T, i hope he pops round and " knocks your block off "
