Went there in the mid 80's whilst I was in the Army, before the wall got taken down and when Checkpoint Charlie was there!

Was in Germany (West Germany as it was then ) for 10 years and Berlin is a beautiful city!

Get yourself to the Kurferstendamm and get a Jager schnitzel (Veal and mushrooms) in your belly!

The local beer is Holsten Pilsner!

Nice beer, although my favourite was Koenigspilsner and then Becks!

Went to Berlin for a week to play football, but did a bit of sightseeing and went past Spandau prison, whilst Hess was still being held there!

I was stationed in Spandau for 2 years in Brooks Barracks just behind the prison. I saw Hess on a couple of occasions although it was rare for him to be outside of the buildings within the prison.
I loved Berlin and would love to go back some day. Some great memories.

I went there a few years back to see The Opressed and then The Business, SLF and Argy Bargy..... I went there thinking this place is gonna be full of a right shower of cnuts and found out it was the best european visit ive ever had.

Beer is reasonable and brothels are legal

we have just opened an office out there about 1/4 mile from checkpoint charlie. awesome place, quite expensive mind. but the architecture is amazing, very Russian and oligarchal. Also if you want a pint of bow theres a pub called the irish times that do it on draught, its on leipzierstrasse.
