Surely it would benefit income rather than reduce it as that person will hardly come to a game on their own. Why should they? Because they do a job deemed more worthy than others for a pretty decent salary?
Should nurses get a discount? What about teachers? Ambulance drivers?

They risk their lives every day yes. They chose to join the army though, and their reasons would have been many and varied.
I bet none of those reasons would have been discounted entry into football matches though.
Just seen your facebook page, you appear to be 12, ho hum. See how you feel when your youthful sense of entitlement wares off.

Yes you are. You are also assuming that because you enjoy football so should they. What about people in the forces that don't like football, what should you provide for them?
Don't answer that though, this argument must end!

I'm 37 and I believe in paying our armed forces a wage that fairly rewards them for the work they do. They should then be free to spend that money on whatever they like.
As my original argument went, where do we go from there, nurses, doctors etc...

You talk about pay then mention Doctors? Please don't contradict yourself.
As for nurses, the city have already started offering deals to the "999" staff as they put it, meaning policemen, firemen and the ambulance service. I've no doubt this will expand in due course.
If you believe that 16k a year is fair pay for somebody who is out in Afghanistan, I urge you to look again. Please. For my sanity.
