Papers reporting this morning that Martin Jol has decided to stay at Ajax afterall, so where does this leave Jones? A few days ago he was 2nd/3rd favourite for the job, will Fulham now come in for him? I doubt the fans would be happy going from Jol to Jones!
I'm in two minds, 1 side of me would like a change and some fresh ideas, the otherside is that Jones holds the team together and without him we could crumble. Also worried who we could actually attract to the club should be leave.
What could we offer a manager?
Pro's
- excellent facilities
- some of the best players in the championship
- big crowds
- good history
Cons
- Transfer embargo
- No funds
- history of court appearances
- wages paid late more than once

Pro's, best finish in 40 years.
Good man to man communication & motivation [except in JL case].
On its day, his team can play scinctillating football.
Able to work & develope a small squad.
Consistent at Champion ship level.
Cons, High salary & contract, by championship standards.
Not a good communicator with the paying public. [fans].
Has limited options on the playing field, no plan B, 4-4-2.
A tendancy to lay blame on every one/thing other than himself when things go wrong [they never learn the lessons].
Personally, i like Dave Jones, & i think we could do a lot worse, & now is not the time to change, imho, however, like DJ says often enough; "you never know whats around the corner in football".

Think Jol may have used Fulham, to pressurise the Ajax board to give him more control over player transfers, seeing as he was reported as being unhappy about player sales being authorised without his knowledge or approval!

Gonzo, are you a fan of 'Love Never Dies,' or do you just like the avatar?

funnily enough, I'm going to see it tomorrow! Have you seen it? Loved the Phantom of the Opera, not expecting LND to be anywhere near as good but looking forward to the story continuing.
I find this picture very devious looking so ideal for this forum

Watched Phantom Of The Opera last November, which I thought was awesome and I saw Love Never Dies a few weeks ago!
I thought the new show was very good as well, would like to see it again, but it's not quite as good as The Phantom in my opinion!
I'm sure you'll really enjoy it though!

If DJ goes, we could have some trouble recruiting a new manager and that would be disastrous for us with all the other off-field goings-on at the club at the moment
