transfers embargo lifted or?

if a player has been released and has no club can a team with a transfer embargo sign them? i think you can hence Robert Koren and the trialist on tour with us ,can anyone confirm this?

Technically you CAN sign them, so they can play in friendlies.

However, you need to be able to register them with the Football League, which isn't possible during an Embargo. I think.

I know that Southend had signed a few players on pre-contract until their embargo is lifted.
