o/t NFL

Wed Dec 30, 2009 10:12 am

I follow the NFL and my team are the Packers (soft spot for Cardinals as my aunt lives in Arizona). I have just looked at the end of season and the play off race but cant find anything that shows the likely play off games.

Can anybody with a bit more knowledge of play off system put it in simple terms. I know both the Cardinals and the Packers have made the play offs, I know thery are in the same half, I know they play each other in Green Bay this weekend. What i dont know is whether the resuilt is important and who plays who and where and when.

I am looking to have a little bet to have a bit of interest.

A far as i can tell.....

The two top teams in the NFC go straight into the divisional round and both Green Bay and the Cardinals play in the wild card round. Their current standing is they will play each other again in the post season. However all the teams are set for the post season in the NFC and after the last round of games they could play a few teams in the wild card round. Both the Cardinals and Green Bay want to win as there is a chance of going straight to the divisionals and miss the wild card round (the Eagles would have to lose). With the Eagles with only a one game advantage over the second wild card, virtually anything can happen.

Although it's not that easy to decipher go to NFL.COM and you can work it out. Depending what you want to bet on. Saints for the NFC, Colts for the AFC and the Superbowl, if you want an outside bet I would put it on Green Bay for the NFC but to get hammered in the Superbowl.

Hope this helps, I guess not though

it does help. I did look at NFL.com but I am still confused (easily done).

I am looking at Packers for Superbowl but as you say to get beat (I thought the Cardinals would get hammered).

Will see what price I can get.

Saints for the NFC?

The Saints with an abysmal pass defence whose record has been padded by quite a few games won that should have been losses? Aye.....

NFC, Green Bay are the ones in form going into the playoffs. Should be the NFC favourites. Favre will find a way to implode the Vikings, the rest can pull off good performances but throw in stinkers.

AFC, hard to look past Indy. Best QB of all time in Manning, only knock being their playoff record isn't great. If they falter I can see New England winning AFC. Struggled, sure. Clutch players. San Diego I'm just unsure about - great QB, physical receivers, good running game, decent defence - just one of those teams you look at and think there's something missing.

Eh, have faith - Miami to beat Steelers, gain the miracle sequence of results needed, Henne-mania runs wild in the super bowl...
