Before you answer.
The Riddler and the media slated Sam for 3 years.
Would it be a GOOD or BAD idea to have what SAM HAMMAMS WANTS ?
and has called it
" THE DREAM TEAM "
Sam wants TG to run the Business side and himself to run the football side and ALL THE EGGHEADS TO BE GONE FOR GOOD.
ALL OPINIONS WELCOME .
Fri Jul 23, 2010 8:18 pm
Depends on the terms and how it reduces our debt.
I wouldnt want him back for the sake of it.

Bring Sam back if it means goodbye to the eggheads. Sam has passion for football. He might be a nutter who did many wrong things but with someone controlling his pursestrings his return would be good.

I just don't think it would work, to quote Carl (
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18177) Sam is a leader not a follower, sooner or later it would come to a head.
Fri Jul 23, 2010 8:21 pm
yes without a second thought, someone who wants to see the fufilled
Fri Jul 23, 2010 8:25 pm
I don't think TG will put any money in for someone else to manage .
Sorry but thats how I see it.
If Sam or another investor comes up with say £12 million TG will
think about it.
But I imagine TG would love to get investment from sources he knows well.
Fri Jul 23, 2010 8:26 pm
If it reduces the debt and he is kept away from the money, then why not. We desperately need a football man at the club.
Fri Jul 23, 2010 8:27 pm
If it for the benefit of the CLUB yes. We also need some1 on the board with the contacts to do "The footballing issues I,e transfers, contracts"
Something which is obviously missing in our club. i just wish somebody would buy pmg's shares and the egg loving parasites f**k off to their own sport of choice.
Just my opinion.

Gethin Jenkins egghead running it for them at the moment.
Fri Jul 23, 2010 8:32 pm
Tough one this, I guess given the current situation I would rather have Sam back. We do need someone running the football side of the club.

look behind the scenes sticky to see who has invested the money and whose name appears on the mortgage debentures against the club.
its vincent tan
do you really think a man of his wealth and stature needs 12 million off anybody to put into the club.
i mean if he was short of 12 million why bother in the first place knowing the debt the club was in
Fri Jul 23, 2010 8:35 pm
Annis, Carl or anyone for that matter, is there ANYONE willing to invest in CCFC at the moment, that you know of?
Because if there isn't, then we've well a truly sprung a leak in the shit creek we're sailing up.
Fri Jul 23, 2010 8:36 pm
We need ALL the eggheads out of our club once and for all, if Sam was to return then i would agree he would be fully competent at running the football side of things but not the financial side.

how long has sam been out of football circles now skywalker.
just remember he attracted players by paying ridiculous wages and the riddler carried on in the same vein.

I for one would like to support a club that isn't on the tv or in the paper because it is owned by ego-maniacs and being ripped off by conmen and spivs!! Signing young raw talent with a manager like dario gradi who can push them into real talent and enjoy the feel of the club again! Not people who's priority order runs 1) them 2)them 3)them..........149)Cardiff city!!
Oh one day eh!!
Fri Jul 23, 2010 8:41 pm
Egg chasers out - yes, as soon as possible
Sam in - not sure, his heart is with the club without question but comes with a lot of baggage and in my opinion i don,t think the Malaysians want him on board!!!

How many other clubs have 'famous' chairmen, or one's that seem to love the limelight?
Whether Gething is the right man or not I don't know, but it would be nice to have someone who keeps his head down and tries to get on with the job in hand for a change.
Fri Jul 23, 2010 8:47 pm
Yes get sam back he knows football and has loads of contacts.ffs cant be worse than we have got.GET SAM BACK ASAP
Fri Jul 23, 2010 8:52 pm
I think its come to a point now where something has to be done. I'm not an avid Sam fan, but...we are getting desperate and need something sorted. I think we can all see the mess that the club is in. We need a football head to run the business, sort out contracts and transfer, deal with agents etc, and if Sam wanst to set up to the plate, then so be it...no one else wants to help at the moment, and from my perspective..not many of the board room staff are doing anything!
Something has to be done, the sooner the better....otherwise I can ee us going on a downward spiral!
Fri Jul 23, 2010 8:55 pm
When you say "Sam to run the football side", what exactly does that involve?
Can you please clarify what he WOULD be responsible for?
Fri Jul 23, 2010 8:55 pm
Owain, exactly my point, let me ask you all a question and no cheating, off the tops of your head only,
who are the chairmen of the following clubs?
1) west brom
2) Bolton
3) millwall
4) Blackpool
5) everton
6) hull
7) Sheffield united
8) Doncaster
I couldn't tell you? Why can't we be well run and up to date??

Steve cant argue with those points and maybe the worse the club appears the more likely, out of sheer desperation fans may turn to back to Sam. Question is, can it be any worse than it is already is and is that a good enough reason to want Sam back? As I said tough call.

all i can say to you skywalker is that there are no plans by the malaysians to bring sam into the club.
as i have said on an earlier thread do you really think vincent tan is short of the 10 million to pay off langston.
if they were worried about the debt why did they not involve sam in the initial investment/takeover plans

Now this is the part of the proposed arrangement I just don't understand. How can Sam negotiate transfers & contracts without having any involvement in financial matters ? Surely that's not possible ?
Personally I wouldn't want Sam back but I trust TG to do what's best for the club depending on what the terms of the deal are.
Fri Jul 23, 2010 9:15 pm
Thought about this long and hard. Would this work with Sam scouting for players but working under a wage policy set by the Malaysians. Could Sam work under those conditions?
There is onbe thing Sam would have to work on and that is to win back the fans trust again. Yes he might come back under the eye of the Malaysians but I dont think that will comfort most of the fans he has made enemies of who from what I am seeing are a majority.

I have thought about it a lot before reaching an opinion.
And that opinion is that I would definitely NOT want him back in any role at the club.
I have no axe to grind with Sam as an individual. On the few occasions I have met him he has always been good company,we have had a number of interesting phone conversations and he was kind enough to send me a lovely personal message when my first grandchild was born recently.
But I just can`t see what positives he would bring with him for the club`s benefit
1) I don`t believe he has substantial cash to invest , or he would have invested it already , such as when he could have through Rudgwick in May this year.Or he would have produced evidence that he has funds when TG asked him at their recent meeting in London. If Sam just brings more borrowed money into the club , then we have too much of that already thanks.
2) There is no way he would be able to take a backseat role , answering to the Malaysians and or the CEO for his actions and not getting involved in finances. His personality/pride/ego just wouldn`t allow him too and clashes would be inevitable.
3) I think the idea of him bringing football contacts and expertise to the club is a bit of a myth to be honest.Previous deals to attract players to the club were mainly based on bribing them with over the top wages and his "contacts" will now largely be out of date or "old school" - the football world has moved on since he was in control.

What's there to think hard about? for me it's a no brainer----- the sooner we can have Sam & TG running the club the better!
