Kennedy given a 2-year deal at Ipswich

Can't blame him for leaving.

I've got mixed feelings.

He wasn't a particularly good full back for us, beaten for pace to often and erratic distribution, rarely got past the full back when going forward. £75k was better than nothing for someone who I would be loathe to start with and many felt was luck to have a contract extension.

BUT, he seemed a very strong character and spoke well, I would expect he was well liked by the rest of the squad, AND we are short of numbers. Kennedy played a LOT of games last year and thats now 10 of the (small) squad from last year gone with only 2 in.

IF he had to leave for Drinkwater to come in then its probably for the best.

Good luck to him -and thanks for the memories - in particular the play-off semi's and his work with ledley for the goal at QPR.

Jones take on it all

Jones still strangely relaxed about it.

Tim, I still cant work it out, Kennedy is one of Jones main men behind the scenes, also his eyes in the back of his head, DJ was also training up as a coach.

Two year deal and I read somewhere that Keane is after an assistant - I agree with the concensus that there are better fullbacks around than him but I suspect Keane is seeing the potential added value he can add off the pitch. He is a very articulate individual and I'm sure he will do well after his playing career is done. Good luck Sparky and thanks for hopefully getting the issue of Quinns final instalment out of the way. Just Hudson and probably Taiwo to sort now.

I guess if it was better for kennedy than City could do then Jones has to be happy for the lad.

Mabe Jones knows something we don't
