WE'VE ALWAYS BEEN IN DEBT..............

Sun Jul 25, 2010 7:15 pm

Lets be honest, we've always since I can remember been in the shit financially and always had crooks for directors. Stefan Terlezki, Kenton Utilities(who were based in Jarrow), Kumars(FFS, wanna buy a carpet) Clemo(bless him & his 10 seater plane for away games) Rick Wright (The club will belong to the Jnr Bluebirds) Im sure some will recall more but I dont remember anything different at CCFC to be honest. But then we weren't a high profile club which we are in comparison to back then, we always begged and borrowed for players wages and we were really lucky we would get crowds of over 5000.

I know we are seriously in debts in comparison but all Im trying to say its just another saga of the joys of skint Cardiff City, whatever happens we'll survive but I think the main problem nowadays is the great expectations of the new fan and the embarrassment our financial situation highlighted so much, each and every club will or have been through it. All we can do is take it as it comes, I dont see the point anymore in getting so wound up.

The Tax-man will be at every single club demanding their monies and people like Ridsdale will get what's due to them eventually, karma is a wonderful thing.

I do not agree with your view about Kenton Utilities I think that Bob Grogan was the last decent and honest chairman we have had IMO ,that is including Sam (the great. He made us feel good about ourselves) Hamman.

Even if you go back as far as the Dewey Family ,Lance Hayward etc, the Club and Football was even more corrupt then, the riddler was just a man behind the times, chairman bought and sold , football clubs made a personnel fortune and walked away, that is no longer the case.WIth palyers wages, agent fees. I think that football in general needs a reality check, and get back to basics, 20-23 players and how much is the wage bill? what is the average payment,to the players? are they worth it.

Some times I wonder why are we so loyal to players who are not as loyal to us, this is not a criticism of, Joe Ledley or any other player who leave for better money , but on football itself. Clubs have to get their house in order financially, and every club has to this(IMO) for football to succeed, and football clubs should only pay players what they can afford through gate receipts, I believe that anyone of our players would have left buy now including our manager if they are offered more wages.

This is just a rant from someone who is falling out of love of football(but never our club) :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: , and footballers. I hope it make sense,

Bluebirds till I die

Agree, every detail seems to be under the microscope these days whereass years ago we never heard of our financial situation so nothing behind the scenes bothered us.like you said we've been run by just about every rogue in creation, remember Rick Wright with his photo in the Echo handing the club over to the kids? Apart from Borley i can't think of one single chairman who was'nt crooked.

I read a TLG post once where he stated (I'm sure it’s true because he really researches his stuff) that Lord Ninian never actually put a penny towards the stadium we played in for 99 years, but of course it was named after him.

Instead he just guaranteed the loan in the days when defaulting on debt meant a trip to the workhouse.

So even back then we had people connected with the club who took all the glory on the back of other people's cash.

Correct Bob Crogan Def was an Honest and Decent Chairman, he was moving down here from the North East to be closer to City(Buying our house in Wenvoe), until his Sudden Death. Then his Son took over and did not care about us.

football is heading in to financial meltdown. Nearly every club is in some kind of debt. There are those that have their sugar daddies and those that borrow beyond their means.

Football is awash with money but clubs are still skint, going into admin, cant pay creditors. Only a matter of time until a football league club goes pop. There are numerous no league clubs who have disapeared and if the greed continues and nonesnse wages and agents fees then the merry go round will splutter and fail.

I hope the European super league takes off and the super rich can feck off to Europe and we can get some kinda normality back. If you say it quickly and compare to other far more bigger clubs then £27 million does not seem that bad.

Like it r lump it we have not got a sugar daddy and our income streams are not enough to meet our outgoings so we eithier incur more debt or we cut our cloth accordingly and quietly slip back into the lower leagues where we can afford the wages and costs.

Yes we have lived the dream, 3 wembley appearances in 3 years, memorable matches like beating Bristol city 6-0 at there place the Liecester play off games beating Burnley the season before last thinking we are in the play offs, it is like going on one of your dream holidays you do once in a lifetime, that you could not really afford, then back to reality, I think it is time for our club to get back to reality, and to make sure that we have a club for us to support for our children and grandchildren, going backwards with a season ticket sales of 16000 is not a such a bad place to go backwards from,we lived the dream for a few seasons Sam gave us believe in ourselves after years in the wilderness, who could ever forget the leeds game the queues at Brentford to get in, so,come on make some noise and support our boys who ever they may be.

Is this me being negative ,I don't thinks so, I want to be as positive as I can, sugar daddies come and go ,this is where I agree with the VT and TG we have to get the finances right and a sound business plan which I believe Sam had ,but for some reason was not trusted by Berman and yet by Goodway,Berman ,for what ever reason he did not want the football club to have the land rights hence PMG.(please correct me if I am wrong)

Imagine if we, the City ,had the fiances from the retail park and the land deals that are happening at the moment and int the future, our fiances could have pushed us on to the premiership with a bigger stadium and become bigger or at least an equal footing with the rugby(internationals) conspiracy"s theory's yet again This is where in my opinion the club needs to be sustainable on gate receipts and sponsorship money.

If we dropped down a division, we would not sell anywhere near 16000 season tickets, it could signal a downward spiral with the current debt.
