Otherwise they wouldnt be Millionaires/Billionaires, But I dont agree when everyone Says they will know exactly what there doing regarding Football.
You only loose money when you get involved with a Football Club and the more you get involved the more you loose, Thats why originally all VT's board of Directors were against the idea, Many Billionaires/Millionaires have lost Small fortunes in getting involved in football.
Any Comments that they might have come unstuck on This Business project or was it the Buzz of suddenly getting involved in a Football Club etc
I am not saying this is what happened just interested in other fans views ?

I think initially Ridsdale may have sold them the dream and projected how a Prem League CCFC would be like for them so they got on board , however realism has emerged regarding all debt and bullshit that comes with CCFC and the curent regime . Maybe they hoped for promotion as the answer just like all us supporters did but it didnt happen and they are now trying to run a loss making business and NOT a football club with a board of directors with differing agendas so it seems , I havnt got a clue regarding new investment etc BUT Im of the opinion that the 37% is just a stepping stone into full ownership but at what cost and when ?????

I'm still of the opinion that buying CCFC was part of a greater plan which involved VT's interest in betting in Malaysia. Through Ascot Sports VT was originally given a provisional licence for telephone betting and limited tote outlets to non-Muslims living in Malaysia.
The betting would primarily have been on Premiership and Champions League matches.
This is just my opinion and nothing else, but had we won promotion to the PL in May the betting licence would have been granted straight away (hence VT's attendance at the game). VT saw the provisional offer of the licence withdrawn a few days after our loss to Blackpool (although concerns by the Muslim majority was given as the reason), but the Government have promised to 'revisit' the idea at a later date.
I believe that 'later date' will be when we have gained promotion to the PL.
Our importance to the project is due to the profile of having a Malaysian owed club in the Premier League. It would be easier to placate the Muslim majority (many of whom are big fans of Premiership football) if VT was pictured attending games at Old Trafford, Anfield or the Emirate Stadiums. Add to this the fantastic marketing oppotunity we would offer.
The cooling off period would be at least 12-24 months, in which time VT can successfully aquire full control of CCFC and make it debt free.
PS Illegal betting in Malaysia is estimated to be worth between £200-300m P/A.
