Two men wanting to fight - are they breaking the law?

Tue Jul 27, 2010 12:45 pm

Not talking football here, but say two men agreed to fight say UFC style in a park where no damage could be done, and had some set of rules like a tap out or knockout so no GBH would be done, would they actually be breaking the law?

Yes. I've seen gatherings on TV shows where the police have turned up and the fighters arrested

Happens all the ime in the Travelling community, and especially at the horse fairs. Police know it goes on and as long as its in a field away from others they are ok with it.

Arrange it to take place at the Liberty stadium on a match day, there would not be many people there.

That would be my answer.

They might not actually get arrested for 'fighting' i.e. assaulting each other but instead for disturbing the peace of others.
